Mod wise adding heavier wheels are probably the biggest slowdown/performance hit you could do to acceleration. Look into rotational inertia. Think of yourself on a crank trying to accelerate a heavy flywheel from rest vs a lighter one. Think of F1/indy... racing cars don't have 22"chrome spinners.

The whole point of the car was to analog his build off bike. I think they did a decent enough job of that. As for the look of the car, I don't like it. For many reasons.

As for the 1/4 times, I am guessing they were not trying hard to break a car that still had yet to make its debut. You guys must not realize how much time you give up when you run street tires and don't hole shot. In the clips, they were almost doing street starts.

I'd disagree there. The main thing it has in common with that bike is riveted metal.

Off the top of my head, If I was trying to emulate that bike I'd have added some side pipes dumping right behind the front wheel and utilized some copper ... somehow.

But, if I was Paul Jr trying to translate a bike into a car, I'd have picked Anti-Venom. The web-theme is a pretty distinctive Paul Jr thing. Could keep the flat black paint scheme, dress the exterior it with some yellow bits and some webby brightwork. Use yellow interior panels on the door and dash, recover the seats (or even just the head rest) with more web stuff. It would look better (I think ... maybe) and would defiantly convey the PJD idea better than riveting a few pieces of aluminum to the car.

I just watch the American Chopper episode of the destruction of a perfectly nice camaro by PJD. At the end, they mentioned that they will butcher 77 more, the HORROR!

I just thought PJD would have done better. I don't like it. Just get the ZL1 and save $30,000

Exactly. I appreciate him trying to branch out but it just fell short. Maybe there is a niche market of his fans that will buy them, but I will have to see it to believe it.

I'm watching the show on the Discovery Channel now and I really can't believe the little effort that went into this project. The biggest job on this seemed to be the supercharger. I've seen tons more effort and passion from our members on Camaro5 or the other forums. I love the bikes and the work they but into them. The work they put into this project was disappointing and nothing jaw-dropping or very creative.

77 of those cars is not a good thing. Not that it's horrible but just not unique enough. 77 is too many. What does that number mean anyway? Maybe I missed it. They may as well just sell the panels and parts as a package for those who Do like it.

this season of the show is coming to an end and he is cashing in on the huge number of hits he had during that build off. his pr and law people probably had something to do with the decision to tryand get non bike peoples money. the american chopper era could be winding down so he is trying to make a big hit.
when the show first started, they actually had a bike shop that a tv crew filmed. over time, it got more of they were in business to produce the show. most of the poeple who have bikes built any more only do so because their cause/charity will be on tv. its good return on investment. when the show is not on, not so much. just my opinion.
the car is silly and so is the price. oh my god who will be the first to buy one of these.
