The problem with Wikipedia is that anyone can write whatever they want in the articles. I heard that there was a way to track who wrote what. If anyone knows how to do this, it'd be interesting to see if there's any basis to that section of the article.

Huh....either they are getting ahead of themselves, or we as a group missed some BIG news. That IS great news though...seeing as we have already learned the potential for the LS3 can get up to 700hp w/ certain mods...naturally aspirated.

Does it come in BLACK?

It would be nice if it were true...but my guess is they are just going off of past experiences between the corvette and camaro.

It seems pretty much a given that they will put the LS3 in. The Mustang is supposed to be over 350 HP by '09 and Chrysler will be dropping in a 6.4 litre hemi in the Challenger by then. They have no choice. The 5th gen has to be well north of 400 HP. And GM usually doesn't change engines with a year of introducing a new one, like the LS3. It has to be the LS3.

I agree that all signs seem to point to having an LS3 in the Camaro, but nobody should be printing it as a fact until it actually is one.

Yes, but this is wiki. Although their information is normally pretty acurate, it can sometimes be way off. We could write that it is going to have a 1L 3cyl engine if we wanted to, or edit it and say that the 09 camaro is likely to have an LS3

I think the LS3 would be an awesome engine for the "Z28" and the LS7 for the "SS" model.
Either way-imagine starting out with 430 horses, think of the cylinder heads on the LS3 and the tremendous potential there. I mean, that dude has 2.16 inch in and 1.6 exh valves! My trick flow heads had 2.02/1.6...for GM to produce a factory engine with things like this is frigging awesome! Add that to a 376 cubic inch engine and you get an awesome balance of torque and hp. Historically, something the "me too" boys could never compete with. A set of ported heads and decent cam in that engine would be hard to beat! All things considered, its a very exciting time to be a GM enthusiast. They weren't messing around when they started the LS series, and it keeps getting better. I can only imagine a forced induction engine...but think they will reserve it for the 'vette. Oh yeah, this was about wikipedia...sorry to get all excited. Wiki is a good source for info, yes it is submitted by users but most of the time its factual or damn near it. Other wiki users can make changes to inaccurate information. Maybe Im just optimistic about the LS3 |

LS3, likely. But Personally, I believe it'll get a gen V. Either right off, or very soon after.
Oh, and don't trust Wiki... |
