GM Misses Marketing Opportunity to Showcase 8000 Camaro V8s

How cool would it have been to have 8,000 Camaro V8s cruising the streets this summer nationwide? That would have been an incredible marketing move. It would have blown Ford and Chrysler and their customers away! I guess GM will be forever comfortable chasing Ford/Mustang. Maybe the next headline in the newspapers will be how a bunch of GM managers are vacationing and getting massages on the downpayment and interest of thousands of loyal camaro fans. Wake up GM, it's not as hard as you're making it sound. We order, you fill the order. That's the way free market worked before you asked for a socialistic bailout!

What??!

I have a very good mind to delete this thread.:(

First of all -- the V8s haven't been ignored, or delayed anymore than the car itself has been. Understand that. Because anything else is FALSE.

Second, what does any of this have to do with vacationing managers,

and Finally -- it's not a bailout, it's a loan WITH interest that will be paid back.

I strongly suggest you calm down quite a bit.

Right, because giving money to one of the only truly American manufacturing bases is socialist. Give me a break...

It is actually a LOT HARDER than what has been posted so far. And no I won't turn this in to a detailed thread on product development and manufacturing in the auto industry. It's just not that simple. Sorry. You guys have been let "inside the ropes" to a greater degree than most programs. But that doesn't mean you will get to understand the details of how GM runs it's business and manufacturing facilities.

Just enjoy this product and the process. If the Obama administration oks the new more restrictive fuel economy rules and California keeps getting it's way on emissions, it will become MUCH harder to get great cars like this to market.

This thread is the pinnacle of ignorance, and we don't need anymore of this please delete it. The OP has no other reason to make this thread other than to bash GM

We need something that will let the community delete threads like these.
Like if you get x number of people to vote that they don't want to see a thread anymore it gets deleted.

One of the things I really like about this forum and the mods on THIS forum is that they allow you to SPEAK and they are not trigger happy.

I strongly agree with the Dragoneye regarding this post, this post serves nothing but spread misinformation, but its also important to allow the venting as long as its not out of line. He is making a point, that point may be right wrong, but ther are indeed lessons that MUST be learned on both sides of the fences. This is how its actually works!

Thanks for not deleting this.
