Ok, here is what Vince told me when we were trying to tune the OD pulley.

"You're exceeding the limits of the fuel system and it’s causing injection window misfire (which causes poor combustion). It’s trying to inject too much fuel. It’s a DI motor which means it has to inject the fuel between the time the intake valve closes and the time it’s ready to ignite the mixture. At 5000 RPM the fuel demand is such that it’s still trying to inject fuel when it’s trying to ignite the spark plug. It’s like peeing on a fire, it doesn’t work so well. It causes misfiring, which causes excess oxygen to come out the tailpipe, leading to a leaner-than-actual reading."

Back at the start of July when Vince and I were trying to figure out the fueling issue I was asking him about the aftermarket HPFP that people were trying out, his reponse:

"I tuned it, I’m not convinced it really works quite right though. I guess we’ll find out. I got an STS-turbo’d car to run on water/meth at 10.5psi without any HPFP problems. Worked really well."

I would say its mostly in the tuning but by what Baylor quoted from Vince it seems the injectors spray too small of an amount in the given time and either they're maxed out or they cannot be tuned to spray a bigger amount of fuel in the given time. It could be the injectors themselves that are maxed out or it could be that the ecm parameters cannot be changed to allow more fuel flow.

But either way we're about to find out here very soon how much boost the LFX fuel system can handle

Well folks, KMAGRIZZ is all done

Torque convertor is now in and I've driven it (nicely since it's untuned)and she drives good.

Everything has been rechecked and all fluid levels are good!

Now just waiting on Matt to fly down and work his majic with the tune
