Exclamation MBRP Black Race Dual Axle Back is loud!

I installed the MBRP 2016 Chevy Camaro V8 6.2L 6spd 3in Black Race Dual Axle Back w/ 4.5in Quad Dual Wall Tips S7036BLK on my Camaro today. Holy crap it is loud! I am running the American Racing 1 7/8" headers with off road x-pipe and full exhaust. I started it up after install and my service manager almost had a heart attack. It looks like I may have to reconsider my axle back options

Watched a ton of Youtube videos, they did not prepare me for the volume. Live and learn.

Off road pipes + race exhaust = wake the dead loud.
On top of that, longtube headers. You might as well be running open headers...

Lol my thoughts exactly. MBRP race is basically a muffler delete with J pipes to help control drone. Longtube headers + no cats + no mufflers = Loud as ****! simple math formula.

Some things in life you just have to experience for yourself to fully grasp them. Like sex.

I agree...Either way you won't have any issue selling it. The younger crowd loves loud AF. When you get about 30 or so that shit starts to get old. Which is why I over paid for a NPP axle back system that gives me the ability to quiet the exhaust down. If the stock NPP suit case wasn't so tinny sounding with exhaust mods I would of kept it.

I'm sure you have heard other catless long tube header cars in person prior to completing your exhaust system. So you wanted it insanely loud from the get go, just can't handle the decibels now that it is in your car and you have to drive it and live with it.

Thank you for the free analysis, Dr. Freud. No, I have not heard a catless long tube header equipped V8 car in person, other than actual race cars. I don't have to live with it either-I still have the stock NPP muffler in hand. The car is going on the dyno with the loud AF exhaust to see if the stock muffler is costing me any HP. Then a decision will be made on how to proceed.

The muffler won't hold you back much, but as mentioned by another forum member, they start sounding tinny with catless long tube set up. Yes, I understand the set up is not permanent, lol.

I was being completely serious about this by the way lol I have longtubes to stock NPP and i think it sounds horrible. way too raspy sounding. I miss the sound of my 5th gen when i put longtubes on it.
