Bump. I’m curious about this too. I don’t think I’m likely to purchase the wing, but trustworthy vendors have claimed thr 17/18 decklids are visually identical (even under the plastic etc), and the same part number.

One mystery member claimed it left small dents (or something) near the uprights....but never produced a single picture.

What SPECIFICALLY is done for reinforcement if there is any? Why would the part numbers be the same on each year? (Or was the vendor mistaken?)

If it's a brand-new part number and is the only version currently available (IOW, everybody gets the reinforced version on a part ordered over the counter) there need only be one part number.

No. Both the 2017 ZL1 with original trunk lid, and a 2018 were both physically in their shop, and both had the same part number.

Odd. I thought every time a GM part was changed at all it got a brand new number.
