A Camaro takes more than 5 seconds even in the eighth.

The biggest difference here is that GM finally developed the Camaro around a proper chassis with the 6th gen. Just by changing the chassis, they dropped significant weight.

I've seen both cars, driven both cars, and I still love my 2011 more than I do the new cars (ZL1 not included in said statement). That being said, the new ones are very sharp looking, I absolutely love the performance improvements, and I still hate that Impala looking rear bumper..

As others have said, its all really subjective...if you arent basing it purely on performance for stock vs. stock..

I own a 5th Gen 2015 and have driven a new 2017 2SS. The problem I have with the 6th gen is with the looks. I love the front end but that rear end is hideous.

Another thing I noticed is how you do not see the curves in the car when you look through the mirrors like you do on a 5th gen. The car to me feels way too small on the inside and outside. Forget about anyone sitting in the back seat. Also the engine compartment has hardly no room. Just looks well plain and everything all bunched up.

The car drove ok and not worth the upgrade and really it did not sound any better than the one I have. Love the REv matching that was sweet. I'll keep mine and save some money until they come out with a refresh and fix that ass

I agree with the one person on 13 rear fascia and 14(non RS)front being the perfect gen 5. Still haven't warmed up to the 6,with some cars it just takes time but can't see it ever matching the aesthetics of the 5. Good for me as at 6'5" the greenhouse on the 6 is a deal breaker even if I dug the looks.

whats really funny is this forum mirrors the gibson les paul forum im a member of.first they will stir up crap because gibson has been basically building the same traditional guitars for 50 years.then when they change things(2015)a giant wave of hatred spews from the forum and they want things back the way they used to be even though some of the new ideas(not all,but some)had merit.

Ive changed my opinion, a little.
I still like the 5th gen of course, but the 2013 ZL1 front and rear is now my favorite.

Some of the early posts in this thread said the 6th gen was 300 pounds lighter than the 5th gen, it is not. My 1ss is 3850, a 6th gen SS is 3760.

I drove the '17 1le and while the paper numbers made me want to like it, I couldn't get used to the tight interior fit. I don't think its worth spending another $42k on versus modding my 5th gen and I am a guy the loves spending money on new cars. The new mods have made me fall in love with my car all over again. Once I get my cam, headers and suspension mods done, I look forward to meeting up with a 6th gen "Supercar"at the track.

Ive seen a few more 6th gens around lately. Mostly v6s and zero Zl1s. My opinion is still the same.....im just not a fan of the looks. Performance is good but that has me wondering how much the A8 trans is responsible for that. It really helped the Challenger. My 5th gen still gets compliments....and with quit a few people recently gettings pics of it has me thinking its popularity is getting stronger.

If that's what it takes to be competitive with a 6th gen, it doesn't say much about your car.

I have run a couple 6th gens at the track. The drivers did not have the ability to run the car to it's potential. Hopefully they have been practicing for next time.

My car is no different than any other Gen 5 SS LS3, so what's your point. Oh I get it your trying to big league me since you have ZL1.
