Try turning the wheel while turning the ignition. It sounds like you just locked it up.

Are your front wheels straight?

Back in the day when this happened, sometimes it was like the wheel was set in concrete

Apparently I need he-man strength because I can't get the wheel to move.
The front wheels are not straight. They are turned to left. |

My wife and I both had Toyotas only a few months ago, keys looked identical. she tried to start my car one day when she was taking the dog and was complaining she couldn't turn the car over. I got in, look at the key and saw she was trying to use HER trucks key. Mine was a shiny black, her's more of a matte black.
Are you using the wrong key? Do you have remote start? try using that

Dead battery? Doesn't the ignition "lock" if the battery is dead?

Tried both sets of my keys. It does not have remote start. Wife has a Traverse.

This happens to me at least once a month or so. You have to really turn the wheel past the point of where it is (use your he-man strength) and at the same time wiggle the key back and forth. It will finally pop loose.
