Sunroof

I have a 2018 2ss. Had a couple people reach out to me to drive them in a parade. Is there anything to do with the sunroof or is it a no go?

I personally would not let anyone sit on the roof, even if the sunroof could be removed. One the non-sunroof cars, you can push down on that center section and doesn't feel like there's much support there. The overall chassis is rock solid, but that particular section doesn't appear to have much bracing.

I agree with vtircz the roof section is quite soft. I wouldn’t do that either.

Yeah don't do it. My roof vibrates like crazy with my subs. Not many support beams in it to keep its shape I suppose.

I see my roof bow when I'm removing the wax, it can't support anything

The structural safety cage support is all in the frame around the roof but nothing inside the main roof section. There’s nothing but 3/8 inch of headliner and a sheet of 3/8” inch steel between your head and the ground in a roll over.

The first time I washed the car and wiped down the roof it buckled in disbelief. Thankfully it didn’t leave a dent but my heart was pounding for awhile.
To your question - not a chance

Not to be nit picky, but it can't be 3/8" steel.

More like 18-20 gauge steel.

1/16" is more like it. the car would weigh 6 tons if it were 3/8"
