When the bearings went out on mine at 8k miles it was loud, but that wasn't something I was going to let go on much louder. It screamed.

What.. Stock bottoms can handle a bit more than that....
919rwhp in a manual trans with a Novi 1500... 808rwhp in an automatic trans with a YSi... And a mere 700 with no cam or valvesprings.. AGP TT Kit |

Oh and here's mine running a Novi 1500, cam only, TH350... Estimated fwhp in the 900 range (Never dyno'd after uncorking it)
Then we have Nathan's car that runs 6.0x in the 1/8 mile (Mid 9 second 1/4) with a Novi 1500, cam, TH400.. The little stock bottom ends that could.. All about tuning, parts, and octane my friends. |

No reason that you need to go to a big blower to do so... How about a Novi 1500 on a V1 trim.. Straight cut gears, oil fed with HD bearings.. It'll be as loud as a YSi and still VERY efficient for the 376ci motor with gobs of torque where the YSi will lack. |

So I am a bit bummed, I was hoping to order my AGP kit the second week in December so I could have Santa transform my SS into a beast. But looks like the order wont be placed until the 18th or 19th of December now. Apparently even Santa and his elves want a vacation this year which means Ill have to wait till the new year for my new toy.
Great videos!!

OP they are both good choices. I decided between the same two options. Both have pros and cons. And like you I chose the AGP setup. You are lucky to have such a good place to go for the install.
One thing that did not come up is the unique factor. There are so many more supercharged cars around. My TT setup is always a big draw in the staging lanes. Lots of fans come down to check out the huffing and puffing Camaro. And I find it especially cool that most people who walk by my car with the hood up have no idea that my car is not stock. They think I am having fun with them when they ask about my mods. I want to get this written on my cross brace: "There is nothing to see here." One thing I would do if I had it to do over again would be to get the smaller ball bearing turbos. These are good for up to 800 rwhp. More than enough for me. I am going to stay near the "safe" 600 RWHP level. These smaller turbos will spool faster and give you more on the low end. But if you ever want to go bigger than 800, these are not the way to go. But if you do that you will need to build the engine first. I also would go with a quieter BOV. It was big fun at first, but I find it a little annoying now. But most people don't mind the sound. One other thing to consider is the raised intakes that fit in the fenders if you ever get stuck in a big storm. Also even at my modest 600 rwhp level I crushed my posi at the drags. Running a ZL1 diff now. I also took my clutch down to the rivets. Running a DYAD now. And of course suspension mods. Edit: the DYAD was a bad choice, I should have done some Internet searching, I have a Street Slayer Carbon now.

The cam is something I have decided to hold off on for a while, mainly because this build is expensive enough as it is. Actually I am already over my budget. I have read a ton of stories of people who have had cam failures and to be honest I think that's holding me back more than the cost is. It would be cheaper for me to do the cam now vs later since I am already paying for him to tune it. I still have other mods to get after I do the AGP kit. But I keep going back and forth in my head over the damn cam.

And you can max out everything on a stock cam with turbos. No need. Hell ADM is doing 1100+ time and time again with ls9 cams that are not much bigger than stock cams.

Wow Great Thread,, I'm glad I have FSP Matt, Rodney, Karl Close enough to drive up and have round table discussions. As far as my 5th gen S/C car we are headed on the right 1/4 mi. road with that. And my daily driver street sleeper C6 is currently on the table?? OP has decided what he want's and in my opinion that is the hardest decision. So at least his head has stopped spinning. And great comments in this thread to help car owners on this fence to jump.
