Just curious, those that have tuned/voided their warranty.
I had a 2011 1LT/RS(my 1st nice car)that i put so much money in,headers etc,as i was planning in being in it til i died. Then i found about my love, the 1LE,and my life changed. How many have put bucks in their car that you haven't paid off yet? The reason i ask is i want to put headers, and a tune so bad on my 1LE,but wont do anything til i get her paid off.

Life can be short. But just in case it's not, and so far that's the case, I won't do any mods until a car is paid off. Just sayin'! Whatever floats your boat, it's a beautiful car modded or not! :-)

With a 1LE you've got a lot of better equipment from the get go. I can see where you could wait a little while before modding.
I think I started putting money into mine about 2 weeks after getting. Actually, I modded my car before it even got home. I drove straight from the dealer to the exhaust shop and did a muffler delete. I think the car had 30 miles on it at the time. Then bought some lowering springs within a couple weeks. Headers and tune within the first year and only about 3,500 miles on the clock. Mine is paid off now but that's only because my wife got into a fender bender with our Yukon about 6 weeks ago and they totaled it because of age/mileage/frame damage. I didn't want two car payments so I paid off the Camaro (about a year early) and used the remainder on a down payment for a new Yukon. I should have been thrilled to pay the car off but I wasn't so excited because I had to sign up for another 5 yrs of payments.

IMO if you really want to modd the car, do it when you can afford it. Trust me, you'll not going to regret it. |

My 1LE goes to tuner next month for a cam install and tune along with LT headers and I have 4500 miles on her and still owe over 20K on it. The first week I had it I did a sub/amp and borla atak exhaust.
Its prolly not the smartest move to do things to void a warranty but I never claimed to be smart. Its a huge gamble...one I am willing to make. |

I had my car a week before I put my supercharger on. I look at it this way if it's going to break that's just an excuse to make it better than stock besides (at least here) I wouldn't trust the stealerships "mechanics" to check my tire pressure.

OP
depends on your personal risk tolerance and finances..........if the oil pump dies and you trash the motor, can you recover financially? a second part of the equation, speaking of money, is that you will NEVER stop pouring money into the car!. there is always somethig cool or will make the car faster (trust me, you will never be satisfied). good luck with your decision BTW: i voided mine at 3k
