Question 2010 6M 40k miles Very bad vibration

So i am no mechanic by any means, but i know something is really going on with the car, and am tight on money so any help to get me looking in the right place would be very helpful. i have don't a search and can't find anything on an SS.

So i was driving the other day just fine, the next day i hit the gas and accelerate to about 36- 40 mph in third i believe. The car starts vibrating like the wheels in the rear are both going to come off.. i have not had any type of service other than an oil change as of late, and topping off my PS fluid. From 40-60 is when it is at its worst, and from 3rd to 5th gear id say. It vibrates the whole car, mirrors and all, i cannot hear any strange noise coming from the engine bay, and is perfect when sitting idle. From the other threads i have found anywhere close in topic, it may be a wheel bearing, differential, or engine mounts.. can anyone help, this car is to new and taken care of to well for it to be acting like this and is out of warranty now.

Jack the rear up and rotate the tires. If it's a wheel bearing you will hear it near the hub.

I had a differential go bad in a Tahoe and that was the nail in the coffin b/c it would cost more then what the truck was worth.

check your wheels for missing balancing weights or go get them balanced. have you recently bought new tires, if so, take them to where you got them, have them rebalance them. other than that, get under the car and check driveshaft bolts, driveshaft support bearing, bolts on axles, suspension, etc. good luck

very hard to see, have only had one tire change on these rims, don't know how many weights usually go on a rim but there are some already on this rim, but also looks like there is some missing...

If you put it in neutral and the vibration doesn't stop, then obviously it's not the engine.

Usually, speed dependent vibrations are wheel related. Start by looking for missing balance weights. I see you may have already spotted that as a probable cause.

Look at driveshaft couplers . They like to wear out

Check the lower control arm, the sway bar tears out on the 2010's. Mine did.

Interesting, I noticed some high speed vibes in my car around 80, it's not the tires but maybe I need to check my driveshaft bolts, I have some new ones anyway already.

Also I wish chevy used a one piece in these cars, another possibility is the center support bearing.

Glad to see you found your issue though.
