Jake's RJT Build/ Project Thread

Just wanted to document my various upgrades cosmetic and performance to my RJT 2011 non-RS V6 Camaro...

Purchased my Camaro July 20th 2014. Looked like this...

I then Plasti-dipped my rear light bezels, the Camaro symbols on the side of the car and the wheels. I also vinyl wrapped the chevrolet bowties and added vinyl gills to the sides.

I then purchased and installed the Conversion kit for Camaros from Diode Dynamics.

My SMD12 Dome light-

My Trunk Flexlight...

My SMD2 Tag lights...

I also removed the factory exhaust and installed two glasspacks... worse decision ever, drone is horrible and they will be replaced with Solo Performance Catback setup soon...

Future projects-

-Solo Performance Mach-X-LLT setup
-Long Tube Headers (not sure on who's...)
-some form of high flow cats that will work with the Long tube Headers.
-Cold Air Inductions CAI
-Headlight Retrofit with Bi-Xenon Morimoto Mini Stage III kit (H1)- 5000k hids
- 140mm halos from theretrofitsource.com
-5000k fog lights (led or hid...)
-leds from diode dynamics all the way around... including Switchback front blinkers.
-Stock Spoiler, not sure if RJT or Matte Black...
-I also want to get a PC and an immense array of products to bring my clearcoat back to perfect condition!

I should be ordering the Mach-X-LLT setup this thursday or friday... can't wait and I'll keep yall updated.

thanks Behic2320

I got my Solo Performance Mach X-LLT cat back setup in today... Got it installed just one issue... there's a short piece of small diameter tubing on the passenger side about a foot behind where the solo pipes bolt up to the cats... It's rubbing the exhaust pipes and making vibrations... I'm hoping to be able to identify this tubing and come up with a fix where they are not touching anymore...

On a side note... The Solo Performance setup sounds amazing! Now the wait begins for CAI, long tube headers, and some sort of high flow cats and the exhaust and sound of the engine should be set!

I found out today that the problem tubing is a pressure release for the transmission... I'll be getting back under the car probably saturday to see if i need to move the tube or if the exhaust needs to be moved... I'm not competely sure that the passenger side exhaust is fully seated into the cat... the fact that i'm the only one with this issue is making me doubt that it's seated correctly...

So I haven't been on in awhile... life has been absolutely crazy! despite the winter my lawn care business has flourished with yard cleanups and winter prunings... also have become a good bit more involved in my current full time profession aswell... amongst several other excuses for not being on much...

Anyway since my last post I quickly determined tubing vibrating on the exhaust was my tranny blowoff tubing and gently bent it out of the way a bit... no probs.

I also retrofitted my non-RS headlights with morimoto mini h1s and a pair of 140 mm halos... I'll try to post up some pics later of the retrofit even though their all pretty much the same...

I'll post a couple after work tonight... at first it was a much cheaper alternative... now I like that they are a little different than RS. but RS is still very nice lights... I also love the very crisp cutoff on these projectors
