extended warranty?

I know, just getting my 2015 over the weekend and already asking questions.

I came from a 2013 Jeep SRT8. The first thing after insurance was purchasing a Mopar warranty for that beast. That thing had so many electrical components I would be afraid of a cloud shorting out something!

But as my 2015 36/36k expires in December, is there even a need for an extended warranty in the Z/28? From my research, it appears the powertrain seems pretty solid for the mechanicals.

Has anyone researched, or pulled the trigger on a Chevrolet backed warranty? I'm thinking it wouldn't be beneficial as I won't be daily driving. Thoughts?

I bought mine from Becky at Rodgers Chevrolet over the phone. I do not daily drive my car either so I went with a high year lower miles program (7 years/56,000 miles). I also made sure I got the GM backed program. The cost was right around $1,250 and I figured it was good to have in case any issues do come up.

I got mine CPO with 3k miles, and didn't buy an extended warranty so I only have what came with the car. I have faith in the car, but at least I get a couple of free oil changes.

Check to see what it covers. The extended I was offered didn't cover what I was worried about, mainly the brakes.

thanks all. Referencing Hunt-man's comments, are there any concerning components that I should look out for? Again talking about my Jeep, the sunroof motor alone on that car was a $1300 part. I understand the Powertrain on the Z/28 covers most of the internal components which is my primary concern. I also had an M3 which the SMG, owners were always afraid of that pump going out and costing over 8k to fix.

It's all a crap-shoot.

I had one claim in five years for the cigarette lighter on my Nissan. So that was a loss.

My ex on her Pontiac Grand Am had three window regulators, the radio, head gaskets, and two alternators replaced which made us a win.

My six year old Camaro, I bought the wheel/tire protection and used that three times. Not one thing has failed that the extended warranty would have covered.
