Garage Floor Epoxy
I am looking into epoxy floor coverings for my newly build shop (24x24) I have read lots of info in the web and have come to 3 main choices that all are similarly priced. Armor Garage, Armorpoxy - Armorclad, and Versatile building products - Roll on Rock. Does anyone have any experience with any of these? The Armorclad seems to be the most reasonably priced of the three offering a 600 square foot kit where the others are only 500 and 750. I need enough to do ~576 square feet. My reason for choosing these three over the big box store epoxy is these are all Solids epoxys that are solvent based. These two factors seem to always be rated higher than water based epoxy. Thanks

Looks great, but do you park directly on the floor or park with your tires on mats? I know that is an option and the Rustoleum Pro is much cheaper than the systems I am looking at with plenty of cash left over to purchase the mats! I just don't know if that is what I want. Not knocking it, just being my picky self. Thanks for the input.

Yes I park with the tires on the mats. I had issues with the regular rustoleum kit and want to make sure this lasts , probably overkill

I’m not aware with technical terms involved in the installation of floor coating. But I do have an experience as I have installed epoxy resin floor coating for my newly built house by hiring the floor contractors from Mississauga. It’s really worth it. I recommend you the same as well. If have any queries then you can follow this link ( http://www.epoxytoronto.com/products...-overlayments/ )

I used the rustoleum last summer and park my car and diesel on it all the time.
Holding up good and pressure washes and cleans easy.

A guy at my work did this to his garage, and he said his hot tires peeled the coatings off.
Now I don't know what brand he used, etc. But he recommended that anyone get someone who can do a commercial grade application. I'm not sure what the price difference would be, but he is smart and fairly wealthy. I'd imagine that his initial application was done right. |

You are right in checking around, and i too would NOT consider the box store epoxy coatings if you want it to last. I went with the 100 solids epoxy products from the below link. They have held up perfectly over the past 6 years; hot tires and all, and still look brand new. Definitely use the 2 part polyurethane gloss/semi-gloss topcoat as well. Custom color chips available as well as videos of install tips.

Blanket truth about Epoxy, if it's not catalyzed (ie. 2 parts Paint and Hardener) it's not really an Epoxy...

I used Sherwin Williams Armor Seal 1000 2 Part epoxy. After coating with epoxy I coat with Armor seal clear epoxy. It makes a huge difference when it comes to stains and clean up. Im a paint contractor and been love this product. Ive used this in residential and commercial jobs and they love it. Its not cheap but a wise investment.
