cool air intake for my new Zl1 . Who makes the best ?
How much should it cost ? How much should it cost to have a shop put it in ?
And dose it negatively effect any thing ?

Roto Fab and CAI are the most popular

Roto fab is cheaper... Both are offered here by vendors

You can install it yourself. Takes about 2.5 beers to do.

No

I just bought the Roto Fab from DynoSteve here in the forums. we sent a few PM's back and fourth and it was on its way to my house the next morning. I won't get it till the 12th of May though. He sells it cheaper then you can get it for on there site (won't state the cost, I don't know if that is supposed to be public knowledge). I also got free shipping from him.

Roto Fab hands down. I got mine from Roto-Fab directly because I wanted to be able to choose my options. Took me 25 mins and 3 beers. Makes the whine a little louder which is nice, u can hear it suck air, so no nothing negative.

You can't go wrong with either one. They perform about the same. Since I show more than track I prefer the CAI. Don't have to spend time cleaning dead bugs and leaves out of it at a show, lol.

The K&N is what I have, It's expensive but it is also real carbon fiber justifying the cost even parts of the air filter itself is carbon fiber:

If I had to pick a second one I'd probably go with the rotofab but the CAI Inc one would not even be on my list.

Roto-Fab, $400, do it yourself 1 hour install, 25RWHP increase, nothing is affected negatively except your tire life . Enough said!

Darth, All I have is the Diablosport Trinity T 1000 tuner, Rotofab cai and an RX Catch can. The Mic in the air box really gives you what the cai sounds like. I hooked up a mic to my GOPRO camera and put it in the air box. Im waiting for warranty to end then im going to mod like crazy. Now that the rotofab is on it really brings out the scream of the supercharger.
