MBRP Inc Performance Exhaust for the L99 complete

Just wanted to let you guys here on the forum know first that we have finally finished the system specifically for the L99 auto cars.

The guys in R&D have spent a ton of hrs on this car..from hours of db testing, real world road testing, dyno runs, as well as making sure the sound is just right. As with the AFM system (cuts the cylinders down when not needed) cutting in and out, we have minialized the sound as much as possible while still giving the car a nice deep exhaust note.

We have pulled good hp and tq gains with the system as well...19hp & 22ftlbs at the wheels with this particular car.

The jigs are being built as we speak and should have a production system ready to go in a week or two. I will post dyno sheets and videos (as soon as the weather clears...won't stop raining) and let you know on pricing.

The kit, like the LS3 version will be available with the round tips as well as with the square tips that work with the dealer install GFX kit.

What are the Specs on the system? 2.5 inch or 3 inch? Pictures?

Thanks Jeff!

Thanks Jeff!

It's still a 3" system with a cross flow resonator at the cross member area. The mufflers are a chamber design specifically for the L99.

As soon as we get a production unit built and back on the car I'll grab pictures.

I have an L99 but If I was going to get a tune on my car, would I be better off going with the catback for the LS3? I guess what I'm asking is, is there a performance reason to choose one system over the other or do they make the same power even though you have more noise reduction inside the L99 version.

If you are going to get the tune you could just go with the the LS3 set up if you wanted...just really preferance.

We built 20rwhp and 24ft/lbs on the LS3 and 19rwhp and 22ft/lbs on the L99 with the system built specifically for it so they are extremely close...the sound volume is a little lower on the L99 kit as with the cross over resonator tones it down alittle.

Is that a 20rwhp gain with just the Catback and no tune?

Yes, no tunes, no intake, completely stock.

I've got an L99. I like the quiet when cruising. I've just added Roto-Fab CAI and it did exactly what I had hoped and heard - better sound under load and better performance, but quiet when cruising along. ARH LTs on the way and will get a tune. I've been leaning toward keeping stock mufflers because I always want to preserve the quiet cruise.

I guess that's a long way of asking if adding this system will add performance and good sound under load, but preserve the quiet cruise?
