I'm after the Red Jewel myself, but the Imerial Blue was one of my first considerations. Doesn't make sense that no blue at all is offered...

NO BLUE SS

I ordered a NBM SS in 2001 and love the colour. I was thinking about a 2011 SS, but not if I can't get it in dark blue.

Car colors go blue, says paint maker

NEW YORK -- Bored with the same bland silver and white-colored cars dominating the highways? Worry not. Blue is the car color of tomorrow.
Automotive paint supplier PPG Industries Inc. issued its annual forecast of popular car colors Wednesday. Blues, particularly more vibrant, richer, complex blues, will take on a more important role in car styling, said Jane Harrington, PPG's manager of color styling for automotive coatings.
"It's one of those colors that complements vehicle shapes," Herring said. "It's a globally acceptable color. It doesn't have any bad connotations."
Advertisement PPG, based in Troy, Mich., infers future car colors from trends in a wide variety of areas, including fashion, interior design and consumer products. In fact, color is making its way into a growing number of consumer markets, Harrington said, with customizable color now an option with cell phones, kitchen appliances and even washing machines.
"Look at home appliances -- washers and driers and refrigerators used to be tan or white," Harrington said. "You get those in a variety of hues: red, blue, green, whatever works with the interior of your home. I think that's affected all aspect of designs."
In the coming years, cars will also see a wider variety of colors thanks to advances in paint technology, Harrington said.
PPG is not the only one that sees blue as the color of tomorrow. In April, a report by chemicals giant Dupont also predicted a resurgence in blue as a color choice. They saw an increasing focus on the environment as a reason.

someone forward this article to Scott so he can forward it to the higher ups... lol

its funny that GM would do something like this after asking less than 20 people about it... and, honestly, they didn't ask all 15 disciples, either, because I know for a fact that one of them was looking forward to ordering an Aqua Blue Metallic 2SS/RS... so c'mon, GM, lets get on the ball and announce that blue is available on the Camaro SS... dont let the only boat you're on be the FAILBOAT!

Unhappy

GM - I registered with this forum to vote in this poll. I wanted a Lemans Blue with White stripes Z/28 to match my '69 that I have owned for 30 years. I can't get even close to that with the new Camaro. I was upset when I got the news about "no Z/28" and even more dissapointed at "no blue SS". Such a big mistake not to offer a top of the like Camaro in blue! Blue is historicaly Chevrolet's Racing color for Pete's sake!!!! What are you thinking?!?! I would love to at least get an Aqua Blue SS with White Stripes and White interior - can you say - WOW!?!

Will I get over it? - Sure.

Will I have to wait a while longer for the more expensive, blue Z/28 I was hoping for? - probably. You have to do it, it's just a matter of time.

I'll be here waiting.

-Mark.

I really do think LeMans blue would look best on this car.

What's even more crazy is how so many other manufacter's including chevy have a LeMans type blue..
