Should i be ashamed of my camaro because its v-6?
Fell in love with a midnight blue 2015 Camaro 2lt. Ended up buying it cause my dad passed away and he always loved his old camaro. Kind of bought it just to have that connection again. But now lots of people are saying v-8 owners talk crap and make jokes of v-6 owners so I'll just be shamed around other car fanatics. Not that I care too much but I always saw posts on this site so wanted to see what people here say. By the way here's my beautiful girl Olympia

I wouldnt care. I drove a v6 charger when thats what I could afford. People always asked why I didn't have a Hemi, I asked them when they were going to pay my car loan.
My wife has a V6 and I have the v8 now, the v6 is no slouch. Id be happy with it and just enjoy it. |

Nope! I'm on my second (first was totaled - not my fault) and I wouldn't move up. I test drove an SS and couldn't keep it under the speed limit.
It's also better on gas. |

Hell no! No shame in that. Its still a Camaro and you said its a connection to your Dad. Drive it, keep it shined up and enjoy it.

Thanks. My dad had an 86 iroc. Spent more time working on it as a kid then actually driving it. Just got mine 3 weeks ago. Can barely afford it but I've enjoyed every mile. Even just sit in it for an hour in the driveway for fun.

That's an awesome car. I like V6's - they are fun to drive, have lots of git up and go - get great gas mileage, and look as cool as an 8 for less dough. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Anyone who has an 8 and gives someone with a 6 crap, most likely has other issues than are visible on the surface - what sswiss3000 said ^ just worded differently. Congratulations - enjoy her, love her and every time you hear it rap, think of your dad. What a great tribute - and certain he is proud of you!!

We are all different and from different backgrounds. It isn't our place to judge your choice in vehicles or anything else for that matter. If a V6 Camaro makes you all warm and fuzzy and gives you that connection to your oldman that you so crave, then why do you need to ask what complete strangers think to somehow justify your decision to buy the low end model? Maybe it's because you already know the answer ,and you are hoping that it can't be true. Who knows. |

Motorhead... No its just I've always had crappy cars. Last one was a cobalt with almost all of its clear coat peeled off so im not going to lie i want people to think my car is badass at the moment. Since getting it ive been online looking at mods or anything related to Camaros lately. And a lot of the sites that those searches bring you to are just about bashing V6s so I just wanted to see what real owners think. At the end of the Day I couldn't be happier.

When I purchased my 2012 new, I refused to pay $4500 more for the V8. I still enjoy my Camaro every time I drive it 39 months later.
The LFX is more technologically advanced than the LS, producing way more HP per liter of displacement. No pushrods, 4 overhead cams, 4 valves per cylinder, and revs to 7k RPM stock. |
