This post is not a knock on six cylinder motors, I currently have one and love it.

Why do you think I go by "VQ35DE" ?

The inline 6 S54 in my BMW Z4 M is among the best engines of all time. 3.2 liters, 333 HP, 8000rpm redline. It's so smooth and powerful even at low revs. Sixes can be fantastic motors.

Maybe give a different car at a different dealer a try just to be sure. The difference between my 2010 2SS and 2016 2SS is very noticeable. The new car feels tighter/more solid, faster, sportier, more comfortable. It is noticeably a better car beyond just slightly better. Of course it's just my opinion, but the new car is a leap forward in sportiness and quality.

Oh no, not from you. You were just stating your opinion of how the new Camaro V6 felt. I'm talking about the guys saying it's hard to get excited about a 6 cylinder. I disagree..

I totally agree with all these points. I had a 2012 2SS and replaced with the 2016 2SS. I feel that it's pretty much better in every possible way. The interior is night and day different from 2012 to 2016.

I would only buy the Camaro in V8 form, but I also acknowledge that there are V6 engines capable of blowing the doors off the Camaro.

Frankly, the people buying the 2.0T and V6 are making the more rational purchase. Except for the handful of guys that will will track their cars, nobody that buys the V8 will ever make use of the potential of the car. Hell, I only want a V8 for the engine sound.

Not everyone can afford the spend 2SS money on a car. Others can, but don't find it a good use of their money.

These types of comments are the reason why the general public associates modern muscle cars with douche nozzles.

I went from a V8 in gen3 to a V6 manual in gen4 because I had other financial priorities at that time. It was still a fun daily driver that I loved but as $$$ freed up, back to V8 for me.

I won't agree with that at all, even though I personally would only buy a v8

The only thing that bothers me about when people get the smaller or less powerful engine (in any vehicle) is when they complain it doesn't have enough power.

Bottom line...I don't give a freaking rats behind what anyone says. The V6 is plenty fast to have a good time under normal street driving. The car very nearly as fast as the V8s were (and in some cases faster) of just 10+ years ago.

Bolt on + tune V6s are going to be giving stock L99 5th gen SS a hard time.

But oh sure...those V6 guys are all posers...all just wishing they had a real car. Give me a break.

I have the SS now, and I have a lot to learn about it, but I can already tell you the thing is so powerful, that every time I drive it all I can think about is how I can't unleash the beast b/c before ya know it your going WAY over the posted limits. Not that the V6 can't do the same. So you do what you can, having fun with onramps, and the occasional speed burst.

But driving around under normal circumstances, any driver is going to have basically the same fun, minus that glorious V8 sound. Luckily the V6 sounds damn good too!
