May not be enough for an arrest/criminal conviction, but could well be enough to convince a jury in a lawsuit - especially if you can establish motive. Talk to a lawyer, and get a suit started. That alone may scare them into paying for damages.

Probably water based paint. Just wash it off before it dries.

My wife thinks it was a girl that did this. Notice the paint didn't get thrown to the top of the car in 1 big sling. Looks more like a pour, not a throw. Lets face it.... if us guys were to do this, it would be 1 quick toss to cover the whole car and run like hell!

Hey OP I feel for you man. That's terrible. They'll figure out how much of an a** they are someday. I actually went out to my car on New Year's Day and saw someone had put red velvet cake with frosting all over the back side of my car and tried to wipe it off but just ended up smearing it all over the darn thing. I was sooooooo mad. I don't think any damage was done but it was disheartening nonetheless. I hope you get everything taken care of. Best wishes with it.

Your wife is correct, but that is interesting that she was able to identify that from these pics alone. Nice detective work

I appreciate all the responses from a group of people who can imagine what it would be like more than a non car/camaro person.

I'd really like to know though, if anyone could make suggestions about what repair work I should see to it that they do. Is repainting better or just buffing out? Do either of these have long term consequences for the paint?

I would have killed someone for what happened. I was already on the border of killing someone last year when the first week I got my Camaro someone egged my car. Then it happened two more times. I hope who ever did this to your car gets busted.

Let your adjuster look at it...take it to several reputable body shops, even back to the dealer you got it from...you don't need to worry about how its done...you want it to look as good as new when done.
