Watch it shorty! My car will go anywhere! ... it can sniff out the beer even two states away!
It's how much money I have to travel ... have to be conservative this summer for the green and white tour cruise in October

Many vote for their own club members, others don't really know what they are looking at etc. I even know a judge of first gens and have witnessed disagreements among judges at a point show.

I love the Camaro family in particular. I have made friends all over the US and Canada as a result of the shows I have attended. I no longer care about getting a trophy. I am happy to support the charities that most of them contribute to and love to meet up with friends.

Having said that, anyone that has a show should have classes and if it's classic cars, then they should make it clear to the newer car owners so the expectations are set correctly.

Frankly, I see too much ego in many of these organizations and shows to get too involved myself. I just enjoy the people that I get to meet and hang out with. I think some of the best gatherings are when folks like those here, meet and have a mod day or something like that. Beats sitting in a chair all day and cleaning your car hoping to get a trophy.

This is of course, just my humble opinion from years of these shows and clubs. Pretty much the only reason I am going to the Bud show is the people from here that are going and some friends from the East Coast Camaro club. Same with the ECCC show in Hudson. If not for Ken Howe, Mike Sullivan and people here that attend, I wouldn't go. But now I digress....

Peace out.
Wish I could get a confirmation on a BBQ in a couple weeks ... you know hang with Camaro family

Hey guys. I have been reading some of the comments on this issue. I am a long time show person over the years. I have shown my other cars at national shows, local shows, cruz night and on and on since the the 70's. Each show has a different way of putting on their show be it on a national level and a local level to draw donations to a certain charity or special group. Some have a cut off date for year of car, some have no cut off year and every one who shows up to show off their car is welcomed to bring in spectators. National level most time the car is tech checked, classed and put on to the show field AND JUDGED AGAINST A 1000 SHEET NOT CAR TO CAR with other cars that are classed in the class they are placed. Local shows, most clubs that put the show on depend on spectators to do the judgeing for them and most people don't know what thay are looking at. It is what the person likes.

Long and short of it is when your thinking of going to a show take a look at the flyer for the show and see if they have the show broken into classes and if there is an award for each class being one or 3 in each class listed.
Again I think it's about going to the show with your fellow members and having a good time and if you get picked for an award thats great! If not think about the fun you had at the show with the freinds that came along with you.

By the way take a look at the post I put up today. The show I have up is great, lots to do, it's peoples choice and you may get an award or you may not but it;s about having a good time with your car and your freinds that came along to also have a good day.

WOW! Just read OPs full post and the follow up post by everyone. There are so many shows to attend that do appreciate late model owners and having that choice, I see no reason to go out of my way to attend the Mass Cruisers show. I did attend this years Seekonk Show and had a good time. Show organizers attitudes like that only mean that thier shows will not last.

Like Max points out, we all pay the same and I agree we all should be treated the same. I agree with Tim and the others, I wish I had the time to spend on restoration, but life doesn't always allow it. When I had the time I didn't have the money, now I have the money but no time...so like many of you, just bought it ready to go. Why should we be penalized for that?

I guess this guy from the CT group won't be attenting any more Cruiser shows.

This hole thing just pisses me off as a car guy. What a pompous --- . To miss lead fellow car guys just to get $$ to pay for there cost sucks. To have to say ( I go to shows to meet the people and see the cars) is a no "f" brainer.
My buddy's and I have knowingly gone to many shows that we know we aren't judged in. But to say your judging and not and then say so and say tough titty.im not a very big guy but DON'T disrespect me like that to my face.
It's not about the stupid trophy. It's about misleading and being open about misleading. This just makes me mad!!!!
On a side note my mom has a very big yard and would love to host a Camaro -car show. Just need to fig out my situation first.
Sorry for piss pore rant guys.
