Twin turbo guys any regrets?

Hey guys, thank you to all the smart, busy folks that have contributed to this forum. I’m thinking about TT my car. My Camaro is mainly a commuter and date car for my wife and I, it’s a toy that I goof around with and tinker with. Never been to the track or street raced. I want to twin turbo it, I want a fun machine that still drives reliably. I’ll do the work, but I’m not interested in getting into the engine. I’m really interested in hearing from folks who have been where I am now and what their thoughts are?

Just do it. You make more power with less boost than going belt driven boost.
Bone stock engine I'd keep it around 8-10psi. Would highly recommend LS9 head gaskets and minimum ARP head bolts if wanting more power..

I was over 5 years ago. Went with the base AGP twin turbo kit on an all stock LS3 motor for years. Solid and no turbo issues; however, there are other supporting mods highly suggested, like trailing arms and toe rods. Everything held in there well until I took the twins to the track. Needed a new clutch the next year. But, if you're only looking for a street machine, what I did above worked all too well for me (but got me hooked on HP).

I went large single turbo. Spools faster than the typical supercharger. Biggest regret is, I can't get a 6L80E build to last more than a few thousand miles -- even at milder boost levels like 13 PSI.
I originally had problems with the hose coming off the throttle body. I took JB Weld and created a lip on the TB and that's mostly stopped that. I had an aluminum screen in the TB to stop turbulence and that got sucked into the TB blade (and thankfully not farther).
I also had problems with baking spark plug wires and finally found quality sheathing to stop that.

I like mine, but I do miss the Maggie with 3:91’s. The instant boost on street was super fun.

I went from an lsa/4l80 making 730whp to a single 94mm/th400 making around 1100whp. I would hands down go turbo from the start. I'm still using stick manifolds. I like not burning wires and plug access.

Iv had a Magnuson and Procharger but never turbos. I can say your only regret would be not having done it sooner.

I've had all three - centrifugal, PD, and twins. I vote twins. In fact, if there was a twin turbo kit for a ZR1, I'd put one on. However, a 900whp ZR1 is a lot of fun.

And what Stevie said is the truth.

NO regrets going TT. I started with the ECS kit, but wanted more power capabilities. The base AGP would fit the bill for what you described.

I just actually purchased a Huron Speed TT kit with 62/62 turbos. My only regret is all the parts I have collected to do a N/A build, then a procharger build then a whipple build! I have a ton of parts now that I don't need and am getting rid of! No personal experience yet but I'm anxious!

In all seriousness it just seems to be the end all. After all my research and talking to the go fast guys, it always comes back to the turbos. I think the guys buying zl1's and taking off the blowers and adding turbos says something. Good luck OP!

Max effort drag racing, for sure turbo. Daily I'd choose a PD or centrifugal. I like the responsiveness and throttle control.
