Yes Billy I did, pretty great build...I like the Porsche 944 swap better, because the weights of the original engine and LS3 are so close, I don't think that is remotely close in the Miata....I bet it is a handful on the track! oh and I really like the 944 idea because it is already in my garage!

I also drive a 2014 Cruze diesel, and if your looking for mpg this is the way to go. My fuel tank is only 15.6 gallons and I can make the same drive and 50 miles of the way back before I would need fuel.

Actually, the LS3 is less than 50 pounds heavier than the Miata 4-banger. The big weight gain in that swap is the tranny, which throws up an additional 200 pounds over the Miata's unit. However, that weight is as low as it gets and dead center in the wheelbase.

You still end up with a sub 3000 pound 575 bhp LS3 monster.

I have also had many track oriented cars. I love having some sort of higher sitting truck or SUV with bigger tires to run over curbs, tow and just hop in when the weather is crappy or snowing.....(the white stuff that magically appears in the sky for your Cali folk)). I like amenities and not having to worry (too much) about it sitting in the Home Depot parking lot
etc.

I entertain clients on occasion so I didn't pick my first choice which would have been a crew cab truck. Ended up with a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that will tow 6600lbs, enough for the pig Camaro on an open trailer. Added a set of 20x10 OZ Supertursimo Dakar, Nitto Terra Grapplers and I made a small "load level" spacer for the front to bring it up about .75" For me it is the perfect DD to bomb around town in.

Those are nice. My wife has one, an Overland Edition with the Hemi.

Horrible on gas, but a nice, nice ride.

Buy another hot car (challenger?)

Buy a diesel 4x4 to tow my track Porsche (I use a junker now)

Trade the 1LE in on Vette? Mustang GT350? GTR? Viper? (would be DD for my wife)

I have until the 31st until my loan approval expires, and I have no idea what is the best move...I figured you guys would have some good recommendations.
My vote? For sure a Hellcat Charger. Wouldn't a 200 mph grocery getter with all the goodies be the perfect 1LE companion? But the Charger would most likely be faster on a race track. Can you live with that? I bet though the 1LE will still be more fun to drive on a track even if a little slower. Driving around on the street? Take the Dodge and scare yourself silly. Put some money aside for rear tires.

Maybe the drag strip, no way on a tight road course......

No maybe on a drag strip. 11.5 and lower versus 13.0.

According to Road and Track the Challenger HC is as about as fast as a ZL1 which is faster than a 1LE on a road course. I assume the Charger should do about as well. People that have driven bad kittys are converts, just sayin. But right now you would have to pay ADM and it would not be until next year you could get one. Big $$.
