It cant be fixed...ideas please gentlemen. **New idea**

So i had my roll bar installed and didn't notice this right away. When i was checking things out saw this, i am so bummed. I went back to the shop and they said they will have to remove the roll bar and replace this piece. I dont want my car torn apart again. We talked about making a piece, powder coating it, even entertained buying a new panel and just cutting out the front part and putting it over the damage since no one will ever see the back of it. They are a stand up company and going to do what ever needs to be done, like i say, it's me that doesn't want my car torn apart again. Please share with me some of your ideas gentlemen. Thanks

Looks to me that you have two choices. Live with it as is, or if you want it done right, let them do it right?

I get how you are bummed. I went through a similar deal when putting a welded in bar in our '69 back in the late 80's. There comes a point when a car crosses over a line to where function is much more critical than esthetics. Many race cars are sexy from a distance, but not so much up close. Sorry for this, but I think you get what I am saying.

Call me crazy but I'd probably cover it in a vinyl wrap or sand/paint. Some people might disagree but little thinges like this drive me nuts so any idea is better than nothing.

I think that is an EASY FIX!

All you do is remove the seatbelt D-ring bolt (prolly be a large torx) and that cover pulls off. Buy new one... snap in place... re-install D-ring. I think you have enough room to replace it... it just has push pins that snap into place.

If necessary, you might need to detach the seatbelt anchor to fish it through the trim. that should be somewhere on side of seat. But looking at some photos, I don't think you need to do this.

At a minimum have them get the new panel and then you have it. Go with other ideas and check with an upholstery shop and see what they can do. You can always change the panel if you don't like what the upholstery shop does.
