Apparently they won't do modifications that violate emissions. So if anyone knows a good shop in the maryland area that would be helpful
Does this violate emmissions?

Ok before plowing through everyones PM requests, to give people an idea on cam installation, with the right tools the job will realistically take around 4-5 hours, though more if you really take things slow (understandably) as the main front cover won't need to come off

The reason I say this is the GM tool in the link below (EN-48313) is used to support the chain tensions, preventing the cam chain timing from being screwed up

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-GENUINE-...11%26rk%3D1%26

For more info about the process check out the links below

Alloytec (LY7) cam swap instructions
http://www.mediafire.com/?6n1t9loadmp5hlc

LLT Cam swap instructions
http://www.mediafire.com/?auvr9v57cmcn207

Note I've also included the LY7 instructions as explains better the use of the tool as I've described, which if very likely applicable in the LLT's case as the chain and tensioner arrangements are identical

Long story short the job is smaller then people probably think, with the right tools

Hope this helps

Kindest Regards,
Steve

I just hope all you guys realize this is not really a DIY project. At least it is not something I'd want to tackle and I'm the type that likes to do all of my own mods. But if you have the knowledge to do it, and want to tackle it on your own....more power to ya!

Really looking forward to seeing it get done.
It's not as difficult as people have assumed (myself included) with the right tools. Please refer to my previous post

DIY certainly adds to the modding element for sure. Which is why we try an empower modders/owners to do the if they can

In order to get it to run properly a tune is really needed to suit, which Vince can help with. Ideally you would have wanted to have upgraded intake and exhaust systems first before considering this mod

We can always do a package deal for people if it would help them

I'm not sure which mod does, unless it's been certified? This mod hasn't been certified to comply with emissions standards

Come Monday, I'm going to call Maryland Performance, T and T and Tony's Corvettes and hope I have some luck with any of those guys.

We are doing the installs here in FL if anyone needs....anxious to see how far we can push NA and the cams are key. We also can do the ported heads at the same time and upgraded timing cahin set.
