I would think a footnote should be there that going huge or small overall diameter would change the speedometer and also the odometer without correction.

ZL1 set-up

Just installed the following on a 2012 SS

MRR 228 20x10 -23 mm front
Nitto 555G2 285/35/20

MRR 228 20x11 -43 mm rear
Nitto 555G2 315/35/20

There is approximately .8" height difference in these tires, absolutely no issues

Not yet in the process tho, dropping the front 1-1/4" and the rear 1"

Not the best shot, driveway is sloped. You can see the wheel gap tho.

i just ordered the MRR 228's 22". i pulled the trigger on them once i noticed this 15% off deal on ebay today till 7pm PT. The seller is an authorized MRR dealer who listed them at $1598 shipped but had best offer option. i bid $1498 seller did a counter bid of $1548. i bought them so i saved $50 instantly. i maxed out the 15% discount knocking off another $100 from the deal. Then i also earned $15.48 in free ebucks money that i'll receive week 1 jan 2019. For a last min buy i think i did a great job finding my discounts total savings $165.48

That's a good data point, but don't try to read too much into it.

The thing with not having any issues at ~0.8" (very close to 3.0%) is that you don't know how close you are to having issues pop up. 0.9" difference might be just enough to trip what OP went through, and somebody else's 285/35 could be 0.1" shorter or their 315/35 0.1" taller.

That's already a well known consequence of changing rear tire sizes (no matter what you do with the front tires).

I would think so but a new generation is emerging that's asking questions that may be common to us older folk all over again.

I have almost 6000 miles on my ZL1 and I just put new 315/35/20 NT05's on the rear with no problems. Once it gets warmer I plan to put 305/35/20 Nitto 555G2's on the front.

I’m running Nittos as well but 245 front 275 rear.
Will 305s fill in the rear wheel wells?
I’m going to mount the 275s in the front just to check fitment.

Or should I go with 1” lower springs.
(Sorry for the thread hijack)

I know, car needs a wash.

Chevy has already done most of that the work for you. Check out the 5th gen ZL1 (285/35-20 on 10" up front, 305/35's on 11" out back, offsets should be in some thread or other either in the Wheels and Tires section or the ZL1 section.

Thx for the reply Norm. I'll have to measure the offset of my rims.
The rims/tires were installed by the previous owmer.

The stance looks nice from the rear. Sides not too much. Going to eventually change that.

BTW...aren't you in the wrong forum??

Problem solved

Thanks to all who have contributed. The car is running perfectly with the correct sized tires fore and aft. 315 35 20 rears and 275 40 20 fronts. Still looks badass.
