they are practical if you have to park in a very narrow parking area where the door fully opened would hit lets say a cement wall or another car. Lets you get in and out easily without having to open the door to its widest opening.

Do it! I did. Every time I open them people look, and I usually get asked about them too.

i think they look cool sometimes, but can't justify paying over 1k just to make the doors go up... but it does one hell of a job turning heads though!

You have those that are into cosmetic modding and those who are into performance modding. The reason why many performance modders don't buy vertical doors isn't because they can't afford it, but because it would be a waste of money. Plus, vertical/lambo doors should just stay on lambo cars. IMO, they look cheesey on a camaro.

Look at the leading edge of the Lamborghini's doors... See how they're curved, and the hinge is at the top. Now look at them on the Camaro... The leading edge of the door is completely straight, and hinged in the middle,so they overlap the front fender. What do you guys think of my theory? |

Well lol there designed for that if the camaro was it would look better than it does now. I just want the door to show off my interior more and do better at car shows but they don't look bad for not being designed there is alot of cars that if you try lambo door it look way bad

That was my theory. It would take a lot of work and money, but you could move the hinge to the top and mod the door to look more like the Lambo's.
Also have you ever thought of doing reverse vertical doors, i.e. hinged at the back? Cause that could really look cool. |
