Huron turbo vs nitrous
After doing tons of research I've turned to the forum to see what everyone's thoughts are. I'm selling my bike come spring and I am really thinking about doing FI. Car is a 2010 SS A6. Stock besides a resonator delete and a CAI CAI. Here is the dilemma...
I have a nitrous kit at home that I had on my challenger that is just sitting there in my garage. I was spraying through the intake on my challenger, but it looks like i would have to do a plate kit on the SS. If I went with nitrous I'd do a 150 shot, cam, headers, and a stall. However, I have seen the huron turbo kits going for pretty cheap on here and that really peaked my intrest. So the question is, huron turbo kit or nitrous for a DD? Goal is around 600rwhp just to keep it pretty safe. I was thinking about a procharger do to some recommendations but I feel I'd have to push more boost than I'd like to hit those power levels. For those that have ran the above setups what are your thoughts? |

I would also considered a agp tt kit, if you call agp and talk to kevin the price may surprise you

I would LOVE to go to a TT setup, but I have a feeling it may be out of my price range. Once spring gets closer I may hit him up. My dads TT CTSV is what made me fall in love with turbos

I was originally going go with a whipple, but when kevin quoted me a price on my agp kit I had to jump all over it, i was really shocked by what I saved choosing the tt set up over the whipple, are you going do the install your self? This is where a turbo kits add $$, how much hp is the tt ctsv putting down

Horsepower for $$$ you can't beat nitrous. Especially since you already have a kit and at the power level you're talking about. You can achieve 600rwhp on just 125 shot with a cam.
I say spray it and spend the rest on suspension mods, gear, etc. Matter of fact if you have the money to spend on a turbo you can use that to have your motor built with forged internals and then you can spray as much as you want and not have to worry about breaking anything. Bang for the buck, nitrous is unbeatable.

Bang for buck nitrous is unbeatable, but filling it up is annoying. Plus any late night surprise Mexico races means I have to keep an eye on bottle Temps before I race. Been down that road.
Used huron kit I saw several for 3500 range. Couldn't see doing a built motor for that cost. Installing the Turbo I would probably do. Can't see it being worse than a cam/head swap on a 4th Gen camaro. 2012 ctsv coupe put down 1130rwhp. 640 on lowest boost, 870 on pump gas, 1130 with meth |

I cant speak for the huron kit but the agp kit was easier atleast less frustrating than installing long tube headers on my 4th gen, and that caddy must fly

Turbo in my opinion, you will have it all the time. Nitrous is fun but it is not something you will ever get to use unless you're racing. Turbo is turbo all the time. Huron is a good kit, i was in your shoes and had the option between the turbo and LSA kit. I am happy with my choice.

If I could not choose any other turbo setup, I would go with the Nitrous kit over the Huron Turbo kit. Hands down, its going to be cheaper. Not to mention all of the cons that go with a top mount turbo kit.

Start with n2o, then when you have a little bit more money, use n2o to spool big AGP kit.
Price difference between AGP and huron kit is almost nothing. If your considering one I would strongly consider just doing the AGP kit.

Call Kevin, ask him to make you an offer you can't refuse. I can promise it will be less than you expect.

And account for the wires, heat wrap, sleeves, etc etc etc you have to do with one vs the other. Look at the overall package.
