Gas problem. No 93 octane
The highest octane available in western Colorado is 91. I’m at 4500 feet elevation. Looking for a safe solution to maximize the performance in the Z.

Best option is buying a large amount of 110 octane race fuel or similar and supplement at fill ups to bring Octane to the 93-95 range. Second best is adding an octane booster at fill ups; the wars on which brand is the best rage on and on. Lastly, the car can function at 91, just not at peak performance levels.

Can you run E85? Superior to 93 anyway.

Is this a DD or weekend toy? If a weekend toy i would order a 5gal of Boostane next time they run a 15% or 20% off with free shipping. That brings the cost to around $8.50 per can and you can play with the mixture. That is what i run. I typically run 8-12oz each time, but i am starting with 93. I use just enough to hopefully keep the KR out. The 5gal will last me a year.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Drove my 2013 C7 with an A&A super charger for 3 years while we lived in Colorado Springs with no ill effects. Your going to lose about 3% of your HP for every 1,000 feet in elevation and not much you can do about it. You can’t change the density of the air

I've got a similar issue in California, only 91 pump available. Luckily there a few gas stations nearby that sell 100 octane race gas at the pump (and others that sell 5 gallon pails).
5 gallons of 100 octane with the balance of the tank holding 91 octane averages out to about 93 to 94 octane. I haven't dyno'ed the car to confirm but there's a noticeable seat of the pants drop in power when I refuel with straight 91 and the car does feel smoother and has less of a bog effect launching when running above 93 octane. |

Meth is a good option. It is a instant octane adder and will cool intake temps. Win win on an LT4. We deal with Alkycontrol and Snow kits.

I would use the 91 octane and buy a bottle of Octane Boost from Advance Auto, Autozone or any parts store and call it a day!

93 isn't available in CO because supposedly 91 performs about the same at altitude, while not ideal it's not as bad as running 91 at sea level.
I haven't tried adding some 100 octane yet, but I plan on it... Also, AFAIK Octane booster might only increase octane by a tiny amount, adding a can to 91 might not even get it to 91.5.

I've noticed when traveling through Colorado that gasoline sold at altitude runs lower octanes (regular unleaded is 85 octane in places) and the reason is air density at altitude. Running 91 will have the same net effect on your car at altitude that 93 would have at or near sea level. |

I I’m vegas and we only have 91 also. You can tell it’s pulling timing even stock and it’s not even hot out yet. It seems like the only non warranty killing option is to run a bit of race gas mixed in but that seems like a hassle for daily driving.

You may want to check out some rebel stations....I've seen some that have 100 octane at the pump. |
