I will never trust any of these systems. Hell my forward collision warning sometimes goes off and turns off my cruise control with not another car in sight... then other times the car in front slams on his brakes and I have to also and it never makes a peep.
Things like this will cause accidents I am afraid.

Wonder if they are just trademark squatting with Ultra Cruise, so nobody can pick the next most obvious variant of Super Cruise?

Of course they won't be perfect. But human drivers aren't perfect either. And we're the standard they ultimately need to be compared against. Not to mention the fact that human drivers, unassisted, have kinda plateaued as a group. Meanwhile, self driving cars are only going to get better for the foreseeable future.

My favorite is in my 17 Malibu. If you park forward to a curb, you hit it about 95% of the time before it beeps or shows on the DIC. Put it in reverse to BACK out of a stall and it goes crazy about the curb in front of the car
