Long tube headers, in my opinion, best bang for the buck. They turn it into a whole "different kind of car".

Step 7. Drive in M mode, and use paddle shifters.
Or you could just get in the car...put in in M mode. Once underway downshift 1 gear using tapshift..then up shift 1 gear and continue on in tapshift mode. You dont have to do anything else.

The biggest change in sound came from my solo hi flow cats imo.Put those babies on with your borla ...it would really sound good.

Borla exhaust, Airaid cold air intake, and the Range AFM delete module.

This gives my L99 a great sound.

No warranties were voided in the making of the L99 growl.

I have the Borla ATAK CAT Back as well. I love the sound...it's a nice rumble. It's definitely louder than stock, but I want more decibels. I will need to add headers some day for that, but I'm still very happy with the way it sounds.

If your fiancee wants her new SS with a L99 to sound louder/tougher you will need to do something to remove AFM. Whatever exhaust you decide will sound better when the L99 is in V8 mode. However, once AFM kicks in with an exhaust without the j-pipe it will sound so bad she will want to put screwdrivers in her ears so she can't hear it.

Think about it! Once AFM kicks in your driving a 4 cylinder. Have you ever heard a Honda, Toyota, VW or anything with a 4 cylinder sound tough? I know that soon we will have new Camaro's running around with turbo 4's, and I know they will be able to mod them and make them stupid fast. But IMHO they will sound like crap.

Another vote for Solo Axle-back w/ J-pipes. For my taste, that's all it took but if you want even louder, add x-pipe (resonator delete). And a Range device rids your L99 of AFM. If you should happen to want AFM active sometimes, just reach down and unplug the device.

I'm a noob when it comes to exhaust. I always wondered what the farting sound was coming from my car. I didn't know it was the AFM kicking in. after reading this thread I think I'll go with a muffler delete and disable the AFM
