I swear i saw a line in the owners manual about changing the diff fluid @ 1500 miles.

Is this accurate or am i full of crap?

Thanks all,

I changed my diff fluid at 800 miles and will again at about 2500. First changed was very gray. I plan on keeping this car a long time.

changed the oil at 800, then at 3000. Diff fluid I did at 1500. was also very grey in color. They also replaced the carrier at 2000 because of the infamous groaning noise.

While I didn't do mine for a few thousand miles it isn't going to hurt anything. My fluid actually looked really good coming out after several thousand miles. I change it fairly frequently with the amount of track hours I log and it never looks bad and never smells burnt. I say get ahead on the maintenance schedule and keep ahead of it.

Any brand recommendations for the rear diff fluid? I used Amsoil on the 2012, but haven’t seen anything for the 2016s on their site.

ACDelco 10-4034 Dexron LS 75W-90 Gear Oil. You'll need two quarts.

Just did this at 516 miles, and the fluid was pretty dark.
