I wouldn’t be surprised if ac delco was rebranded Mobil 1.

Mobil 1 was all I ran in my old car starting at 50K and ending at 70K when I traded it. The current car has Mobil 1 in it at 4K, all the several other vehicles I own have Mobil 1 in them as well. I’ve got several hundred thousand miles worth of driving on Mobil 1 with never a single issue. When I’m done with the engine work on the current car it’s going to most likely get the Joe Gibbs driven oil though. Just my high performance preference, over daily/occasional driving preference.

Thank you and the other guys recommendations. I appreciate the feedback. Just to let everyone know I actually went with the VR1 Racing Full Synthetic 10W30. Reason being that's what my engine machinist recommended.

Mobil 1 5/30 its on the fill cap and works great for mostly stock engines.

With your custom build it makes sense to use the racing oil.

Yeah I used the LS Driven break in oil for my break in period.

5W-50 Castro / Mobile 1! higher KM LS engines run better and for longer with that.

I spoke with the owner Of Joe Gibbs racing, He stated that if it were his car and in the Summer he would without a doubt be running the 5W40 Oil, He stated it is the same as the LS30 oil but just a touch thicker. Neither oil meets the GM Dexos requirements but he stated their oil exceeds the requirements.
