If you're that young, get your parents/family to add you to their plan and just pay them back. You will save a a huge amount of money, especially if you list it as the car you use for work, or just the car as if you are not the primary driver but are still covered. AllState did that for me, and when I was 19 I was only paying 125 a month for the new 2013 Camaro, although it was not an SS.

25 years old, 24 when I signed on the car. I pay $110/mo for full coverage labeled as daily driven. 2 tickets, 1 being 5+ years ago and 1 when I actually got my car about 11 months ago- go figure, right? :-D. My car is also garaged and under lock/key. Single.

My rate is lower than that of non-sport vehicles. Lol. I have outstanding credit for my age though. it helps if you understand how insurance agencies work. They are commissioned and NEED your sale. Use this against them. Whatever you're quoted, if you actually go in and visit a firm, can be reduced drastically. I went from ~300/mo online quote to 110/mo in person.

Those sound absurd. I pay like 195 a month for 4 vehicles and all four have full coverage. I think you should talk to a 3rd party insurance agent, someone who reps you and finds the best deal. I have a restaurant and i called multiple insurance companies to get quotes and they were crazy expensive. I looked into a local insuarnce broker and they got me a sweet deal. That just my advice.

So I'm searching for insurance quotes.

I'm a 21 year old male with 2 accidents when I was 17 (one is a little over 3 years old and the second one is 2 years old and 10 months) One is a accident involving totaling the car and the second one is a minor fender bender.
I also live in a large city in Central NJ.

I'm attempting to insure the car and the quotes I'm getting for full coverage start at about $350 and go upwards of $700 a month.

These rates seem incredibly high, I was expecting realistically a rate between $250(low) - $450 (high)

Wanted to know what others have gotten for quotes around my age group.

The price that you quoted is to be expected. However, different things have to be taken into consideration such as marital status, driving record, etc. https://quoteraters.com/cheap-car-in...cksonville-fl/

I just checked, GEICO and Amica often give cheap quotes in Jacksonville which is my city. One thing that you can do is try the local insurance agents in your city. However, be careful because sometimes a cheap company might mean a bad claims experience.

I am sure I will take some heat from insurance agents, but car insurance is a scam. I am 40 years old, had full coverage insurance since I was 16, had one acccident (my daughter did) and my insurance went up?!? I calculated how much I paid extra for full coverage over that same 24 years and was not happy, add compounding interest, considering moderate inflation and I was pissed.

So now I am self insured, yes I pay the liability required by law, but not a penny more. I am better of betting on my driving ability, investing and letting my cash work for me in stocks, and if something happens, I have funds to handle it.

We should all know that insurance companies are are not non-profit organizations. There are some bad drivers, in bad goegraphical areas, who would benefit from full coverage, but not me.

So OP, save your money, pay cash for your car, invest your monthly premium in stocks, and pay liablity only (prob $50/month?)..

I remember back when I was in college in Alabama during the late 90's and early 2000's - I paid $252 a month for a 1989 IROC Z Convertible. My credit was OK during that time period, however the insurance was more that my car payment! Fast forward to today - it all depends on where you live, your credit history, your driving record along with the type of car you want to insure. Fact be known - if you are living in an area with a high accident rate, you bet your insurance premium will go up because of other irresponsible drivers. It's not fair but it is what it is. Such as what one other member posted - Insurance companies are nothing but a scam. Why punish the good driver? It's all BS if you ask me.
