Yes, they know about lesser offenses that theyll speak to the prosecutor that you can plead to that May result in just a fine but no points, or they can challenge the report for factual inconsistencies. Definitely worth while

Many years ago I got a ticket. I plead "not guilty" by mailing in the ticket, and had a plan to ask for Driving School and no points. When I showed up on the scheduled court date, the Cop did not show up. The case was then dismissed by the prosecutor due to a lack of evidence (no witness). No attorney required. Worth a shot.

Yes. It kept the ticket off of my license with good behavior years ago. If you have a bad enough ticket, or need a clean record for whatever reason, it is definitely the way to go.

I haven't had the need but my wife, who is also an attorney, has a friend she went through Law School with that she keeps on speed dial. She is more of a speedster than I am. On this particular occasion, she was caught +20 over and we ended up paying around a total of $200, that includes court and lawyer fees. No points, no recording the ticket. Definitely worth it.

For those of you in Indiana... There are deferral programs, but they are different for every county. You pay a fee (usually about the cost of paying the ticket) then if you don't get caught for a moving violation in that same county (usually 6-12 months) the ticket goes away (no points and your insurance company will never know). But if you get caught again you pay both tickets and they hit you with points for both.
I've used the deferrals about four times in various counties (Allen, Brown and Jennings). |

It's worth it. I've only used one myself about 20 years ago, but I had to hire someone for my ex-wife three times. You're basically paying for the attorney's contacts. The only stipulation for where we lived was no more than 1 ticket per year would be reduced.

Got busted 20 years ago for excessive speeding 200 miles from my home and hired one.
I did not need to go to court and probably received a better verdict because of them. To me it was worth it.
