I wonder where this one is going to wind up. GM Heritage Collection? Henry Ford Museum? Barrett-Jackson?

Probably will go wherever the last Cruze and Volt ended up.

Sad day for the Impala, a nameplate we all grew up with.

I think the 2014-2020 Impala is honestly one of the best cars GM has ever built.

From what I've heard the EVs will have actual names, and since Cadillac plans on transitioning over to EVs in the future...

The GMC Hummer EV SUV that was being considered is reportedly moving forward in development.

Hummer truck details from MotorTrend:

Quote:
We actually saw the pickup in person, and the example was a long-wheelbase model with giant off-road tires and a targa top that can be removed and stored in the frunk (front trunk, like in Teslas). It has an upright windshield, boxy lines, and rugged running boards to help occupants climb in. There was a lot of classic Hummer design DNA on display. The SUT pickup will be offered with one, two, and three drive motors, and there will be base models and fancier trims with off-road capability.

And SUV:

Quote:
The SUV will not be shown publicly until a later date, but, to up your jealousy factor further, we also saw it. The version on display for us was a short-wheelbase model that, like the pickup, had upright proportions and short overhangs. In fact, the truck and SUV models share the same design from the rear doors forward, and the SUV also has the removable top. The battery is tuned more for accelerative performance and driving range than it is in the SUT pickup.

Inside, the Hummers each have a big upright 15.0-inch touchscreen, 12.0-inch instrument cluster, beefy steering wheel, and huge gearshift. A lunar theme with the moon's "Sea of Tranquility" shows up in graphics in the cabin. We wish we could show you the Hummers here, but alas, GM is holding onto images of the EVs until their May 20 reveal. But, take our word for it: Hummer is back, and it'll be familiar (but, you know, electric).

From Electrik:

Quote:
The company committed to produce and sell every one of the displayed all-electric models in North America by 2025. The list includes the mid-cycle Chevrolet Bolt EV, Chevrolet Bolt EUV, GMC Hummer EV Truck, GMC Hummer EV SUT, a Chevrolet mid-size EUV, Cadillac Lyriq SUV, two Buick SUVs, and a hand-built flagship Cadillac sedan called, “Celistiq.”

The event revealed images of two additional EVs, an all-electric Chevy Truck and a Cadillac SUV. The autonomous GM/Cruise Origin was also on display. All told, 13 electric vehicles were presented.
