BOSTON ACOUSTIC 9 SPEAKER SYSTEM BLOWN??

I think I have blown my speakers.
When I trun my music up loud, it used to sound tight, now it blutters and farts.

ive never abused the volume, but its not been a year. I've had the BA system in My Hemi Magnum for almost 5 years and it still sounds perfect. Could it be a loose connection? Where can I check for this.

HELP!

Same thing happened to my system. The dealership found that it was the amp that caused it. They replaced my amp and front two door speakers. For whatever reason they said if you replace the amp you have to replace the front two door speakers even if one is not blown. Don't buy that but whatever got myself new speakers.

There full of crap. They are just going off the bulletin to replace the amp and front door speakers. Under normal repair you can just replace the failed component.

That's what I figured. And the freaking wait time is killing me. Been listening to this blown speaker for a couple weeks now. Sucks.

Ok so are you saying I can take it back to the dealer and they will replace the speakers and amp? Yes, it happens when I listen to bassy music or certain vocals.

So I took the car to the dealership today to get my blown speaker fixed. They had ordered a new amp plus 2 door speakers. Now that everything is in and 'fixed' it doesn't sound anything like it did before. The bass is completely gone. I use to have my settings on + 3 for bass and I was completely fine with volume up to 30 and in my opinion it sounded good. Now with the bass at +12 I can't even get the same sound. Overall the sound of the bass just seems so off. I'm going to take the car back tomorrow and hopefully have this fixed. F'ing Frustrated.

There is only one speakers int he dash (center) mid and tweeter in each door and the the 6x9s in the rear package tray each one is a coaxial, but because they are powered separately they are counted as individual speakers so to count

Dash 1, doors 4, rear deck 4 = 9

The new amp has different highpass crossover chips to reduce the risk of blown speakers by taking out more of the lowend frequencies, that I can tell it is around 80-90 hz. So now the BA system is an even bigger pile of crap then it was originally. best best is to start thinking about changing it out. or at least add a sub and amp to make up the difference. the tweeters will still suck tho. the new mids on aftermarket power are ok.
