runs nearly 14 sec 1/4 mile times. That's why we will never make the fast list.

Congrats on this install and thanks Don for some real usefull info. This is the best Vortech install I have seen, great details: the use of the screen and the cutout for the intake.
I hate to thread jack but is there something on the market that would be easy to use to make adjustments for altitude without a lap top? I know you have to deal with other factors but at least to get your air/fuel and boost adjustments. I am at 2600ft and hate to have a gas hog when I go to the shore. Or maybe that is not enough altitude difference to worry about?

I'm assuming this car made about 720hp at the crank?
Awesome build. That car must really move. |

Here's the speed I did on my way to AZ. This was somewhere in the desert at 6400 ft altitude and the outside air temp was at 20 degrees and the tires were fairly cool. I could see for 10 miles ahead of me,
not a car in sight, at about 6:30 a.m. I was in 5th gear at about 6300 rpm's when I hit this speed. The car handled perfectly, didn't feel light, just hugged the road and performed beautifully.

It's alot different highways out west. There are stretches of interstate
where you can actually see the highway where you will be at in another 30 or more minutes of driving at 75 mph. And not a turn in sight, straight as an arrow. And not another car in sight. Back in your part of the country there some roads that are capable of those speeds, but the traffic volume won't let you even come close. We didn't even have a speed limit in Montana until a few years ago. As long as your car was built for it and had good speed rated tires the highway patrol would let you run wide open. Of course it also helped that I was dating a highway Patrol officer at the time!!

Yep, still good friends. And now my sister is marrying a Montana Highway Patrol officer. I hope she treats him good!
