If you already had the flash done at the dealer and you do a fuse pull will you loose the new flash.

Check with your service manager. There is a range of VINs that require HVAC reprogramming so the AC won't freeze on long trips. I remember seeing the service bulletin a month or so ago posted on this forum so a search should help you find it.

I figured this out. For those who had a tuner modify their HVAC module to squeeze out every last BTU of cooling, you are SOL.... their goes your air conditioning warranty, LOL!

I'm kidding. Really!

BTW - Thanks for the info Camaro1.

I thought I said this earlier but I'll say it again. There is an ECM OS update, could be done together with the HVAC or done separate. The point is, if you get this update it will rewrite the ECM and your tune will need to be updated.

Well, is the OS update VIN specific like the HVAC is?

I think I understand you now. The ECM OS update is separate from the HVAC reprogrammnig bulletin (camaro1 already cleared up for us that the HVAC reprog does not impact the ECM). But these 2 can be done at the same time when you visit the dealer. Right?

Keep in mind however, just because there is an ECM update for an Auto SS, doesn't mean it also applies to a Manual SS. The ECM update has been available for the SS Auto for sometime. I haven't heard one for the MN6 SS cars.

EDIT: what a sec! This is from your original post! "There is a new ECM flash for the Camaro that fixes the HVAC problem." Now you are stating different?

From what I've have been told it is for every 2010 SS. All I can tell you to do is call your dealer and your tuner. Question them about the new ECM update and see what they say. I think I may have confused myself and everyone else by combining it with the HVAC update. That was how it was sold to me by the dealer. It is obvious they are two separate updates.

Good point. I think this is the third major update from GM.

Don't know why the fuse pull would affect anything. It only resets the fuel trims/octane tables in the ECM to my knowledge.

Spoke with my tuner and he said it is definitely a change of operating system. Specifically the OS identification which is what the tune communicates with. It could have an effect on the tune or it could not depending on if certain tables were moved to a different location. The only way to be safe is to have your tuner change their tunes to reflect the new OS update.
