V6 LFX induction cleaning, QUESTIONS!

I searched and couldn't find a thread on how to do an induction cleaning.
I found some that HAD the induction service already done from the dealer before they started explaining the steps to continuing the cleaning of intake.

I just dont want to pay 120 for an easy job..

How do i do the service the dealer does?
Do i pour some seafoam first or should i start by taking off throttle body?
Can some one point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Check the DIY sticky, there is a great write up on how the upper induction cleaning is done.

I watched a few YouTube videos that showed how to Seafoam.

Whatever path you choose, make sure to change your oil and filter right after.

You can pour it in the brake booster vacuum hose (using a skinny funnel), but that really only gets the passenger side bank of cylinders.

You can buy Seafoam spray. It comes with a long tube and a curved plastic adapter for fitting into the throttle body. With the engine running (and someone to help keep the RPMs up), you can spray directly into the TB. There are directions on the can.

I did both when I treated my car. One thing you cannot do is unhook the PCV intake line and try to spray it in there. This is where the dealer hooks up their treatment system, but lets just say the engine isn't so happy with that hose unhooked and unchecked air flooding into the intake.

There is a DIY for seafoaming the LLT, which you can loosely follow, with some modifications for the LFX (one of the ways they show spraying Seafoam into the LLT intake just isn't there on the LFX). And there's intensifi's LFX cleaning DIY. Those are your best resources.

Personally, I would. If it loosens and breaks free some deposits and anything makes it past the rings, you don't want it in your oil.

But that's just me.
