Tuning 102mm Throttle Bodies

I am considering a 102mm throttle body for my car. I have a Whipple LS3 making 753hp to the ground currently. I still have the stock TB and believe it to be restrictive at this level.

My question is; how difficult is it to tune a large TB for driving the car around town.

We tune the car with the SCT device on a dyno.

Thank you for your input.

It would be a huge improvement,if you use the NW it will drive great. The problem is your at a level where you could have issues. My car at 800 has no issues ,some at lower hp levels do,have yet to figure out why.If I can help you out let me know.

Tuning is easy, fighting with it to stay open is not. Like HE said, some luck out, others do not.

there is a fix!

we are the only facility to offer calibration services for all those 102mm throttle bodies being assembled with out knowing how they really work. first batch for TPIS has already shipped out. does yours have issues ?

Does your calibration service fix the NW 102 closing problem that some using it have?

Yes! It's a sync error! Both min and max tps1 and 2 have a voltage setting, then full throttle sweep shows sync error all peramiters have to be within specs or 1-3of 3 fails occur! The least amount will keep you out of rep mode the max will not even allow you to tune it. Most nw variants are just out of sync showing that # 3 fail forcing closure due to a min max over threshold.

Forgive my ignorance, but is this what causes them to slam shut under full throttle high flow conditions... I'm looking to finally get away from my stock throttle body. I've never had issue with it and made 1450 rwhp on boost alone... (stock untouched intake manifold as well) but, we are about to really open things up with a short runner huge plenum custom intake.
Just curious...

My engine management is ProEFI, 128 bit, and I know it's heavily tied into the throttle body.

I am just gathering information at this point, but we may be spinning the new motor upwards of 8,500 or more RPM, and pushing boost with twin 76's.... so lots of air flow...

If it's more than 5% out of sync!?! = slams shut!
We have been able to fine tune some of TPIS down to ZERO! With some patients! Several well known people have been involved with this project to correct some of these issues. We work hard for our pay and work even harder to enjoy what we build! It really sucks when we are thrown into a buy something else mentality to obtain a cure! Let's make what we have better has always been our approach!

Has this been proven to work? Can you sync a LS3 tb?
