Talking CAI Inc ZL1 intake and VMAX LSA spiral ported throttle body installed!

2011Black2SS came by the shop and picked up a CAI Inc ZL1 intake and VMAX LSA spiral ported throttle body package and boy did it make a difference! I'll let him give his observations as well but you can tell that the LSA appreciates every bit of air you give it. And the sound is incredible! You can really hear the supercharger SCREAM.

Best bang for the buck in my opinion for simple mods that don't void the warranty. It doesn't even seem like the same car anymore. It has a much better throttle response, I can actually hear the S/C whine, and the butt dyno feels a noticeable difference. The car is spinning in gears and at rpms that it never did prior to the upgrade.

Thanks Chase!

Im not running the CAI brand intake but I do have these mods.. I would venture to say any aftermarket cold air intake combined with the Vmax throttle body make this car a totally different experince.. Worth every penny

I'm stuck between ordering a CAI brand intake vs a rotofab for my Z. Is there any noticeable difference between the two. (Sorry I know this subject has probably been beaten to death)

I don't have any experience the the Roto-Fab intake.

I do like my CAI Inc intake having a lid on it and the inside of the box has a type of insulation on it to keep the warmer air from the engine bay out more. I know when I was researching it the CAI Inc picked up on average 19 rwhp and the Roto-Fab was around 15-18 rwhp average gains.

I am sure you probably can't go wrong with either brand.

Yeah the enclosed box seems like it would definitely be better for keeping heat out. I kind of like the looks of it as well. At this point I may just try to see which one I can find cheaper lol

On your ZL1 or a previous Camaro? I can't imagine not noticing it on a ZL1.

Does the VMAX require a tune? I have the rotofab cai and love it.

Unless you load the Roto-Fab up with a bunch of options it is going to have an advantage on price. If you are looking at more than one item look into package deals to save some money. And, of course, Black Friday is just next week.

You have a decent guesstimate as to how much power these mods added? Considering making this my next upgrade
