So the NoWeeds Diverters ARE installable on the convertible but are not a direct bolt on which is why on the website they state not for convertibles. There are some modifications to do in order to make it fit. Here is the response on the email I got back and some pictures of it installed on a vert.

Quote:
The problem is that GM added a stamped steel crossmember underneath the existing transmission crossmember and that is right where our actuators are at. The wide corrugated crossmember at the start of tunnel is also wider - creating some interference as well. Some of our shops modify the trans crossmember and notch some relief in the corrugated one and some of the other shops just remove the front crossmember and do the notch only. I do have some pictures of an install that a shop sent me- if you are interested.

We just don't offer the product as a true bolt in like the rest of our product line is famous for. Installation is not impossible on the ZL1 Convertible however...

So stoked to hear how this goes and how it sounds. This is the exact setup I was going for. Where are you getting your offroad connections?

Jannetty Racing so I can get the free tune, here is the link: http://www.jreperformanceparts.com/2...oad-pipes.html

If you choose No Cats then they send you the offroad connection pipes. BTW, they are backordered, took about 4-5 weeks to receive.

I appreciate it, I never understood why ceramic coating is so expensive and the purpose of it on headers. I cant wait to put these on.

I agree with you on a stock engine, on a modified engine with cam they sound awsome under load from a distance, but on the wrong setup they can sound like a derby car. That's the best thing about this system you can pair it with your exhaust of choice, and have the best of both worlds with a push of a button.

I just installed the NOWEEDS on my ZL1 with 1 7/8" Kooks headers and Kooks Hi-Flo Cats. I'm still not sure on the sound myself. Personal preference I guess. Friends say its killer from outside the car, drive bye's, and take offs. IMO its great under a load and WOT Idle and low rpm is "ok" Kinda thought I'd get a more header ting sound. Unfortunately, not so much.. hard to explain. The videos of NOWEEDS with a cam seem to sound a lot better. At least on video. Hope this helps? May not.. if I get a video of I'll post. Thanks

Thanks for the review! Was the Noweeds full open or did you try different open settings?

I love the way the partial open Noweeds sounds at low RPM. I would hope it would just sound better with headers.

I ran with full open and 75% open (which sounded almost the same). I didn't have time to try other settings. I wasn't able to get it out today, but reprogrammed for about 40-50% open. Will try that What's your favorite setting if not 100%?

I didn't get a chance to do the headers this weekend but for sure will be adding them to my setup next weekend. I got to call PFADT too and find out where the rest of my suspension stuff is as well.

I run them at only around 20% open, no harm running open all the time other than your head may start to rattle. Too loud for me all the time, once in awhile is fine, 20% or so seems to just add enough noise for my taste.

I'm probably between 20-50% open most of the time. I am rarely full open unless I am at the track or just want to be obnoxious!

I would also like to hear if anyone has dyno'd with them open vs closed on a ZL1 with pulleys, mods, etc? It may be me, but when they are open I actually feel like a little power loss and throttle response is lost. Closed feels more crisp. I do have some mild mods. 608rwhp 614rwtq.
Kooks headers
Kook Hi-Flo Cats
Tune
Air Raid CAI
9.55 Lower
2.85 Uppe
Ported Snout
FIC 95lb injectors
KDI Heat Exchanger
Innovators West Dampner
VMAX CNC LSA TB

Do the mods make a difference (in the pedal feel/response with NOWEEDS) or has anyone with a similar setup dyno'd to prove results? Would really appreciate the help. Closest dyno is 2 hours away for me to try myself.
Thanks for help
