Great write and my 1ss Vert also has a TPW of 3/17 heading to New Jersey. I see you have all of your incentives lined up and I think I should start doing the same. Thanks for the great write up.

You're welcome, and thank you for the kind remarks. I've been monitoring Becky's sticky on deliveries and it is obvious that many sold orders have been concentrated in the next two weeks of production. There will be many happy Camaro-to-be owners next week when the VINs start flying out of the plant. Let's just hope the line gets restarted without issue and that we don't have several hundred disgruntled Canadian autoworkers returning from furlough and facing more unexpected layoffs. I'm kinda hoping I don't have a 'Monday' car.

TIME FOR SOME PICS!!!
This will be my first mod: Rx Catch Can and Clean Side Separator. Tracy continues to refine his catch can, with upgrades to the drain valve and a sweet, screw-on elbow for the exit port. Note the very nice, custom GM paint match on each piece (included in price). These pieces will really stand out under the hood!

New Quarter-turn Drain Valve
This will make draining the can much easier. Per Tracy: "It costs 10 times as much!"

Thanks Smokey. Tell me about being an IndyCar artist. Sounds intriguing. Also sounds like those skills could transfer to Camaro Artist.

It does. In fact, the full name of the Rx part is, "1LE Style Clean Side Separator". This is for a convertible which doesn't allow the 1LE option probably because the loss of rigidity taking off the top. I believe the GM OE piece is plastic and it costs more than Tracy's beautiful custom painted billet piece so I never even looked at the OE part. After seeing all the disgusting garbage GM is feeding into the intake, I'm doing everything I can to keep mine clean and pristine from day one. These cans will go in at mile 25--distance from dealer to my house! Here's another pic. This simply replaces your oil fill cap, plug in the vacuum like and cap the OE port. And it looks great.

A shot of the inside. He's got a synthetic medium in there to help condense out oil drops. I'm told the OE plastic separator has nothing inside.

Well written and pertinent. I'm in my mid 50's and can relate, entirely, to much of what you've described. Definitely recommended reading, especially for the younger, got-to-have-it-(now)-at-any-price, members who're either looking to buy or wanting to "trade up", even if it means putting themselves in a tight spot, most often as a result of a lack of research, sound judgement and restraint. Good read.

Thanks for this very useful information. I'm not purchasing until later in the year but will definitely come back to this post to refresh my memory.
I also have a GM Card (about $900 earned so far). Do you know if the card has any discounts that come up that I might be able to use down the line? |

I do not have the GM card so I'm not familiar with its terms. I have seen references to people getting credits toward their purchases so I bet a search in the price forum would yield some results.
