My Pads and Rotors at 10.5K miles of Street Driving

Today, I finally put on my Zl1addons front tow hook from when I bought it 2 years ago. lol... I was inspired to do it because I had to watch a 2007 BMW 335i get on a flat bed, and the stock tow hook was absolutely required. Anyway, I took off the tire, wheel well liner, drilled the holes and got it done.

I took some pics of my Rotors and pads. This is after 10.5K of street miles. The Rotors were never broken in. I just drove it like I would any other car. I drive pretty spirited, but, it is a street car. I have a spare tire, tools, subwoofer, carpet mat in the trunk, etc.... The rotors and pads still look brand new. Super smooth, no grooves or scratches. Mirror, like a plate. The rotors are quiet when braking. Sometimes I get a screetch or moan, but, I just let off and brake again and it goes away. Enjoy the pics !

Yeah those discs are still as good as new. Mine look worse at 3800miles from new (but 6 trackdays).

I would imagine if you carry on driving like that they will outlast the car/last to 100,000miles.

yeah I'm at 37k, I took the wheels off to have a look at the inside pads this weekend as mine are getting very very noisey (squeeling quite a bit) but my pads even on the back look just like yours.

I think mine are done. in the pictures you can see a grove that is there, I do not see it on yours. Did anyone else get this grove? I have 19000 miles and at least 15 track days on them.

The Girodisc is a direct swap correct? What pad did you go with? Feedback on them?

Direct swap -YES
Once you have the hats you'll be setup purchasing rings only
Supplied with Raybestos ST43R pads
Stopping power is phenomenal with no fade
You'll get a lot of track days out of them
I bled brake fluid yesterday after a three day event and it wasn't very dirty at all.
By all means flush whatever brake fluid you're using and switch to Castrol SRF
SRF cost is more up front but overall to me it's worth it
You will be happy...Umph

Same. Plan to swap mine before next season. I plan to run COTA, the carbons will be taken off before they meet their maker.

You've got the same ring/groove on the inner portion of the disc as I do. Interesting that it seems to be a common thing.
