Rear Bowtie Removal on 2010
I'm wanting to replace the rear bowtie on my 2010 with SLP 'SS' badging. I've read on this forum that the 2011's and some of the "later" 2010's don't have guide pins. Does anyone know if/when GM quit using guide pins on the 2010's?
Thanks! |

Mine was built 5/13/10 and she does have pins :(.
Here's a cheesy DIY I made to see if you have pins. |

You could run a needle from the bottom up into the back of the bowtie and see if you hit resistance (use the pic above as a guide). Another way would be to remove the trunk lid backing (easy to do). Feel for it via the holes on either side of the back of the bowtie mount (in the trunk lid). GOOD LUCK! |

Another suggestion. These holes are guides so you really don't have to remove anything from the back from my experience.

If you remove the bowtie and you have the holes, you can cover them with different types of emblems. We make many items that will cover the holes.
There are also different colored decals which we "do not" make that also covers them. If you want. Just offering suggestions. Last edited by dragonZ28; 11-28-2010 at 02:49 PM. |

There is a thread here somewhere that shows how to lower the inside cover on the inside of the trunk lid and look through a hole to see if the guide pins are present.
Found the link, check it out. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104602
