I was going to get mine next month, but I need to get a house first. Then I'll get a HE Loan and combine both into one. I'm still one who hasn't but will get one.

Who's to say the '11 Camaro won't have any upgrades? We don't know yet. Besides, I think if GM LOWERED HP the Camaro would still sell more than the Mustang on looks alone! (Note to GM: Don't lower the HP, just an example)

This proves, again and again, that if you have the right product it will sell. The key that GM figured out was that this Camaro could not survive if it only appealed to us die hard enthusiasts. It must appeal to those who never knew what Camaro was, didn't like American cars, and was cross shopping a Nissan Altima coupe or even a BMW 3 series coupe.

This Camaro is a hit because of the style, design, performance, features, quality, and price. Who else out there sells a 300 hp V6 with 4 wheel independent suspension and a 6 speed transmission for $22k? THAT'S what is the key for the Camaro.

Those of us in our SS Camaros with Brembo brakes are just the icing on the cake for GM.

....stang/camaro

84: 135,678/ 261,591--------doubled stang
85: 156,514/ 180,018
86: 224,410/ 192,219
87: 159,145/ 137,760------------first year of HO stang and ground effect GT.

98: 170,642/ 77,198 LS-1 has huge power advantage. car is superior in every way a car can be.

00: 218,525/ 45,417
01: 155,162/ 29,009

along the way the stang was almost killed over and over. it almost became a FWD mazda turbo. in 1994 the fox 4(sn95) saved it again. in 2005 the lincoln LS/jag s-type chasis saved it again.

i figure both cars are so far ahead and cheaper than the foreign competition. challenger SRT-8 seems to be the one that will fall by the wayside. too expensive. slower. heavier. the standard challenger cant keep up.

Nissan predicted it would sell about 30,000 of its all-new 370Zs worldwide this year; the automaker has lowered that projection to just 10,000.

Sales of the Dodge Challenger for January of 2010 were 1,683 compared to 2,757 from January of 2009 showing a 39% decrease in sales from the previous year. Year to date Challenger sales are 1,683 compared to 2,757 for 2009, which is a 39% decrease.
Month to Month sales were disappointing as December 2009 Challenger sales were 2,536 compared to January 2010 sales of 1,683 which is a 34% decrease from the previous month.

i would expect the camaro and mustang to take their rightful place back it the top in sales. making cars people (americans) want to buy.

The good news is the muscle wars are on once again. All three will get better and better. Lets face it, once again just like in late 60s the Camaro was built by GM to rival the Mustangs. And just like back then, We never looked back!!! Thank you blue oval crowd.

Yikes I don't likek looking at it like that! I can't tell though if those straight "average" lines are drawn artistically or if they're actually some kind of mathematical mean of some kind. How did you determine them and what would happen to them if Camaro and Mustang sales continue to shoot up as they have the last two months? Would they tilt level and then tilt up or would they bend?

Just ask Excel add trendline which shows how is the trend on long term. Because this line show long term trend in this case it is 10 months then it need more than 2 months to the line tilt up.

But if I use 11 month data then it shows another trend. The reason I didn't do that was that first 2 months was just start period for production and they couldn't produce as many as they do now.

There are plenty of the green one's here in Chicagoland. Two of the dealers I pass on a regular basis have them on the lot and I have seen 2 or 3 others around the area where I live (all different cars with different license plates).

GREAT for GM. Even though I would never buy a Dodge its sad for the USA auto. It would be nice to see all three cars BLOW AWAY the RICE BURNERS.
