not about the weight more so than the tires. full tank + chains/studs should get you around fairly well. Get some tall skinnies all around..

Good set of snow tires and you'll be alright.

It really depends upon where you live. I see you are in VA. If you are on the coast, you don't get much snow at all. I had a 300ZX while I was stationed in Norfolk, and had no trouble getting around. If you are in the mountains, it is a completely different story.

I live in NE Ohio and have 110,000 miles on my 2010 Camaro. This will be the 4th winter and all I do is put my winter tires on and put the summer only up until spring.

The car is weighted pretty good front to back. I have not had one problem and as you can see by the mileage, I drive it alot.

I'm in Illinois, and the first couple winters I had my 2SSRS were pretty rough. The cold weather will destroy the P-Zeros quickly (I think the company actually has a clause in the warranty about driving on them in anything below 45 degree weather). Weight in the trunk will help you keep traction a little, but not much. I keep 2x70lb bags of sand in the back, but to be honest they really didn't make a ton of difference until I traded out the P-Zeros for some G-Max all seasons.

Save up for some all-season or winter tires, and be VERY careful until you get them. I got caught in a nice little flurry before I moved to the all seasons. Just a little bit of snow, less than an inch on the road... gas pedal was useless and even just coasting/idling I missed a turn when the front wheels wouldn't grab hold enough to make it happen.

If the Camaro is your daily driver, make it a priority to get some weather appropriate tires... you won't regret it.

Definitely! Summer tires are not worth anything in winter weather. All Seasons are ok, but you still have to be pretty cautious.

You will be finding a way very quickly to buy new tires.

BTW....if you can't afford the tires...can you afford your deductible? You'll most likely be paying that if using summer tires in freezing weather and ice. Something to think about.

Depends on where you are located. As someone already said, if you are in the mountains, I'd get snows.
Where I am (Richmond area), I drove my 2LT for the past 2 winters on all seasons (NOT the Pirellis), and had no issues. I did not like how the Pirellis felt in temps that went in the 30s. I bought the Parada Spec X tires.

When I got my SS, my first "mod" was getting all seasons (see my sig). With the amount of snow we typically have, IMHO, I don't think snow tires in this area are needed.

Also, I grew up in Buffalo, NY and I drove rear wheel drive vehicles throughout the winters there for nearly 20 years before we left the area.
