Looking like it will be done tomorrow or Monday then on the way back to me.

On a positive note, I ordered the Aerospace brakes for the rear so my Carlisle rotors & calipers for 15" converson will be up for sale soon.
Ouch, that looks rough. That supercharger definitely went through it. Glad that its rebuildable.

Glad it's rebuildable, how much runtime did it have?

I didnt even look at that option since I thought it was just going to be a bearing swap. The shop it’s at doesn't do porting either (SuperchargersOnline). I sent it there based on Magnusons recomendation. When I got the news on the rebuild I did take a look at Jokerz Porting but they didnt list the Heartbeat as an option on the site.

It only had about 8K miles. Had 43 1/4 mile passes, at least 25-30 dyno pulls and a bunch of impromptu shenanigans.

Battery Issues

Hello,

Really glad to see you working and upgrading your car again!

I hate to say this but Lithium batteries will out right kill an alternator. You need a D/C to D/C converter to protect the alternator. Todays alternators are not made for prolonged high energy output.

P.S. Please keep us up to date as to why the bearings went out in you supercharger. I just installed a Magnuson...

Thanks for that Vicster. Interesting that they dont sell any automotive lithium batteries though (or I couldn't find them anyways). When I talked with both Antigravity and Braille they both said their automotive batteries worked with 10 & up Camaros without any converters etc. I have a few FB friends with Camaros that have been using the Antigravity ATX models for over a year with no issues. Doesnt mean it wont happen though.

On the Maggie - still waiting for it to be re-assembled as their Heartbeat tech has been out sick unfortunately. Hoping it gets done this week. When I learn more I will pass it along.

While waiting on the S/C and a few other parts to arrive I started working on the rear brake swap. I had the Carlysle 15" brake kit on the rear and those worked great, I really couldn't tell any difference compared to the stock Brembos when driving on the street. Now I doubt they would have done well with very hard street or any road course action.

Here are the weights of those -

Carlysle 15" Kit
Rotors - 16.4lbs
Caliper w/hose - 5.17lb
Backing plate - 3.12lb

Total per side - 24.7lbs
Total both sides - 48.14lbs

Aerospace Components Pro Street Rear Kit
Rotors - 9.12lb
Caliper - 2.15lb
Hose & bolts - 1lb

Total per side - 12.3lbs
Total both sides - 24.6lbs

Instructions for the Aerospace calipers show that I need to drill out the factory caliper mounting holes on the knuckle to 1/2". I will get that done today and should have them mounted and ready to bleed.

Almost done with the Aerospace rear brakes. Just need to hook up the hoses and bleed the brakes.

Drilling out the caliper mounting holes on the knuckle was pretty easy. Just stepped up with 2 different size drill bits to get to 1/2" that was needed.

Needed to grind a bit of the knuckle off where the backing plate was bolted too for the rotor o clear. Pretty easy work with angle grinder and flapper wheel.

The Maggie arrived a week or two back and finally got around to getting it set back on the engine this weekend. Also removed the ARS tensioner and replaced it with the GM tensioner.

I've been struggling with the rear brakes and cannot get the braided lines to the factory connector to seal up. I find it hard to believe that I messed up both hardline flares but I have tried two sets of adapters for the AN lines and they just wont stop leaking. So I pulled the rear cradle to get some more room to mess with the hard lines since it's looking like I will need to cut and re-flare those fittings.

The spare tire well cover arrived yesterday from Scott Rod Fabrications and I'm really digging it! It's still in the plastic covering and not mounted yet but will get that done this week.

I did remove some of the seam sealer so it would lay flat and will most likely mount some aluminum square tube below it for support. Will use some rope seal underneath it and some silicone up against the rear part of the trunk.

Tire cover turned out well. Are you going to keep it removeable?

Weird on the leaky brake lines. Any chance the braided line you got are not right for the stock inverted flare? Or did I misunderstand something?
